In-article ads causing issues

Richthig on

I love reading the Tennessean, but recently I notice that ads are causing text to be unreadable because it pushes the text to the left, cutting off words. Please fix this.

Not Dependable

I use the print version. While reading the system switches tothe online version. I have to shut down reboot and select enewspaper. Works sometimes. Lacks stability.

This app is not dependable

Grammylkk on

Vereinigte Staaten

I love reading The Tennessean but the app is extremely undependable. It is sensitive to touch often defaulting from regular screen to full screen to the front page. For some reason, the screen looks and reads easier on my husbands iPad which is one year newer. If I leave the e newspaper and return, it often leaves the page I was reading and returns to front page. Deleting the app and reloading sometimes helps as does rebooting my iPad. Overall I find it often frustrating to smoothly read and move through the paper.

e-Newspaper unusable …

Jeff Van Syckle on

Vereinigte Staaten

I’ve subscribed to the Tennessean for some time now, having family in the Nashville area. I recently moved here from upstate NY, where the app worked fine in e-Newspaper mode - my preferred way of reading the paper. Since I’ve been in TN, the app does not work at all in e-Newspaper format, unless I clear the cache each time; even then it does not always open in the format. I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled a couple times with no change. I reported the issue several times within the app itself, with no response. I enjoy the paper first thing in the morning, but will probably cancel my subscription because of issues with the app.

Tennessean App is Clunky

fredziffel on

Vereinigte Staaten

Although I have subscribed to The Tennessean newspaper for about 15 years, that newspaper insults me with this App. Possibly the worst App on my iPad! It is very slow. It is not at all intuitive. It closes virtually every time that I use it; usually taking me back to page 1 after a long wait. I often speculate “The Tennessean wants to go out of business”. That’s how CLUNKY this app is!

Can’t see it since The app update

Ten37215 on

New update is horrible. They had two new tool bars above and below the side. Please make the word so small you can’t really see it. they have also greatly increase the pop-up ads, so it’s very tedious to get through all the ads to read an article. There’s not hardly anything worth reading in the paper now, anyway.

There is no information on my specific account. I would like to know my subscription end date and new subscription price.

Notifications Issues: Please Fix

I appreciate the Tennessean on

Vereinigte Staaten

I stopped what I thought all notifications but I am getting more than “breaking news”. I like the feature but multiple notifications that go beyond that is very disruptive. I agree with the following reviewers comments: Abusive with Notifications Nov 25 青六六次六 Despite repeated requests and inquiries, The Tennessean feels it is necessary to alert people throughout the day with sports related push notifications as "breaking news" despite them being anything but. Recent push notifications include a lifestyle story about a coach, Vanderbilt football updates, Little League updates - all of which are not breaking news nor top stories. Editors and app programmers should follow the requests of the notifications features built into the app to not abuse customers with unnecessary and unwanted notifications. Not everything is a top story or breaking news.
