Absolute joke of an app. It logs you out multiple times a day and then when you’re trying to activate your ticket it takes a few minutes. It’s not compatible with iPhones and this needs to be fixed.
App constantly fails to load when you try to log in. Summarises how bad our public transport is in this country. And when the app doesn’t work, they won’t accept card payment on the bus ! Only cash!
Bus Eireann does not show up by default, several bus routes missing so could not buy online ticket
Signs me out of my account every 2 days which is very annoying, and recently I was unable to re-login with Apple, looks like they stopped supporting that, and had to create a new account. There’s also no option to bulk-buy single-use tickets, and if you buy tickets without waiting 60 seconds after each purchase, your next purchase fails, so basically buying 10 tickets takes 10 minutes.
You can’t buy a ticket for the NX on the app
This app is broken. Whenever I try to buy a ticket it says “error loading the ticket”. Some people may use this app to get to and from work, sort it out!!!!
Everytime I’m just about to get on the bus it logs out, and for some reason it takes so long to log back in, and I just have to explain to the bus driver , usually bus drivers are nice though but I swear it’s more worth buying them physically than online
Routes are missing for cork city. 202 or 215 to Mahon point is one of the main ones in cork, I missed the bus because the route was not there. Very negative.
Coming into the whole TFI circus of apps and websites while trying to understand how to simply buy a bus ticket for my teenager has been quite an ordeal. It’s easy to understand people’s reluctance to use public transport given the shocking state of this app. It’s barely semi functional and actively user hostile in my opinion. Almost unbelievably, the first option is to select a bus company for your journey. How are people supposed to know that? Why not select a departure point? On top of which, the user needs to know the exact *code* of the bus stop they want to depart from. Get that wrong and your journey is reversed. There’s no map functionality or any way to check this (other than exiting to Google Maps) that I could see. The bus stop selection UI is among the worst I’ve ever seen. The payment flow throws weird miscoded pop-ups on the screen, and finally ‘activating’ a ticket leads to some bizarre animation with a ‘count up’ but no actual ticket? How does this constitute a ticket? No idea, and it wasn’t accepted by the driver. My child ended up buying another actual ticket on the bus in cash, so paid twice for their journey. How do you buy a return ticket? No idea, it seems like you buy another single? Sorry, what? I wonder if the devs have ever actually used this to buy a ticket? What God forsaken collection of nonsense client requirements led to this rubbish? Were any designers involved? Like lots of public facing services in Ireland, this is all far more difficult than it should be. Where’s the joy? Where’s the delight? This is just bad UI, bad UX, and stress. Avoid, if you can.
