In practice, often non-standard and inconsistent romanizations are used. When you get a hang of the Thai handwritings, your understanding of the Thai culture will improve naturally. There are over 20 million people who speak the language of Thai. It is closely related to Chinese. Spoken Thai is mutually intelligible with the language of Laos. The two languages are written with slightly different scripts but are linguistically similar. There are no articles in Thai like "the" or "a" in English. Thai nouns do not have a grammatical gender. And the verbs do not have grammatical tenses, such as go/went/gone.The grammar is similar to Chinese except for some word orders. The numerals (1, 2, 3, 4, ...) sound pretty much like those of Chinese. And both languages have tones. 泰語也稱傣語，是傣泰民族的語言，屬於東亞語系/漢藏語系的一種語言。全球有約6800萬人口使用泰語。泰語主要是分佈在泰國、老撾、緬甸、越南西北、柬埔寨西北、中國西南、印度東北的傣泰民族使用。泰語分為大泰方言（中國雲南西部及西南部、緬甸北部及西北部、印度東北部），蘭納方言（中國雲南南部、緬甸撣邦東北部、泰國北部、老撾北部、越南西北部），暹羅方言（泰國中部及南部、老撾南部、柬埔寨西北部）等三大方言。泰王國北部、東北部是蘭納方言，中部、南部是暹羅方言，泰國中部方言是泰國的標準泰語。泰語口語與老撾語互通。泰語的基本詞彙與漢語類似。語法也類似於漢語。 ## 泰語書寫及發音 Screenshots -
