The iPad app is disappointing, you can’t zoom in and out but if you increase text size the margins get huge! …so essentially cannot make text bigger without being silly. It is in need of update to the latest iPad app technology. Don’t like to say it, the Telegraph app is way better. Only the content is dreadful there of course!

While having a traditional curated daily edition is welcome, the apps design is so half baked I can’t bring myself to use it. Single column layout looks terrible on iPad Pro, lots of white space, and endless scrolling to read a single article. Overall the app lacks basic features, and is frustrating to navigate. For a digital only paper the design is laughable.

Having an issue with app with latest iOS on iPhone 12 Pro. Repetitively asks to log in via website - username and password correct, VPN status makes no difference… user error or bug?

I am really enjoying reading unbiased in-depth reporting. This is so different from the bombardment of short clips on TV. I can always find a story that interests me and trust the reporters to give a fair picture of events.

Being hassled to review something immediately after starting it is not conducive to a positive review. I finally gave up and decided to give a review on the 5th request in 5 minutes. 

I signed up to the Independent after adverts made even the free articles impossible to read. 
Now I’m being hassled to give reviews. Unless things improve I will be cancelling and ignoring all Independent content. 

What I have successfully read has only been of moderate quality, so at the moment it’s not looking worth the hassle.

It’s disappointing that “The Independent”, still uses a decade old scam of enticing you with an introductory offer and then fails to give advance notice of prior to the subscription being renewed. I am sure that the offer said that advance notice would be given before any funds would be taken from my account. 

The deduction has come at a bad time. Had there been an advance notice, then i would have renewed my subscription 3 weeks later.

Posting comments on stories is a great feature, but so difficult to use that it’s virtually useless. You have to sign out, then sign back in again, every time you comment - by which time your comment disappears and you have to re-write it.

I downloaded the app and took advantage of the 6 months for £1 offer which popped up when I opened the first page. The paper charged me £99 and refuses to refund as the app came via Apple and I’ve had an Independent subscription in the past. It seems the offer is only open to new customers. I’ve cancelled my subscription and have deleted the app. If I could leave no stars I would. I feel like I’ve been mugged and there’s nothing I can do about it.

Relatively independent views. Decent coverage but frequent spelling and missing word issues. Unfortunately, they’re caught up in obsession with anything to do with the younger royals with the standard bias against Harry and Megan. If that’s not true, then the suggested proofreading might help mitigate the evidence.
