How to access: 
The app is free to download. You can read on the Times Classic app in one of the following ways:
- If you are an existing digital subscriber, log in using your email and password.
OR
- Subscribe to The Times and Sunday Times in-app.

Please note:
Payment will be charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase
Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
You can manage your subscription and switch off the auto-renewal by accessing your Apple subscription manager after purchase

Hi.  I really enjoy browsing the Times classic app on my iPad. However in recent weeks the performance has deteriorated to a point where it is now a frustrating experience. 
Some articles (maybe one in six) just don’t display, until I restart the app.
Fortunately I can use my wife’s 9th gen iPad and it works fine, but very disappointed that you are unable to make it work on a 7th gen one (which works fine for all other apps I use).
The app is up to date and was working okay until maybe a month ago.

### and still no update loads of complaints of missing pages, why can’t you get the code sorted and get a fix out? ### come on Developers *** Still no update *** still missing pages, need to get this App fixed, random pages blank, have to swipe up, close App and then the missing page downloads but then keep finding more not downloaded.  This App is hard work to use now!  

Missing pages that don’t download, deleted and reinstalled still no joy.  Please update the app, don’t think it’s been updated for 6 months now!

I have read the Times on the app for years and think its the best iteration of an online newspaper. However the app has suddenly started developing problems. It crashes frequently and some pages refuse to open.
Since writing this the situation has gone from bad to worse since the app crashes when I try to open it. I am running iPad 18.3 which is I think the latest version. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it. 
Given the number of negative reviews which have recently appeared on the same subject I am surprised that the Times management are not doing something about it. Since I can no longer read the newspaper I am paying for I will cancel my subscription.

### *---- "The forgotten version of The Times - disgraceful treatment of paying customers."
Please sort out the Classic App - I pay good money for my subscription which was taken out when the App was the best on the market and a real alternative to the paper version, but no longer. 

So many missing articles, layout errors and typos. 

Recently some pages won’t load - the solution is to copy a link and open them in a browser - they then appear in the app!  Get this sorted please!

Seems nobody at The Times is bothered.

I have used this app for years without issue. Now, like many others based on recent reviews, I am having daily issues with articles not downloading. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app but the problem remains. The only workaround is to close the app and restart it each time a page does not load. There is clearly an issue with the app looking at the number of poor reviews left.

App will not load, deleted, reinstated still does not load. Online chat pointless as no movement in line after 15 minutes, no doubt phone line will be the same. Is expensive and app I am afraid should not be prone to many glitches

What once used to be a very reliable app is now terrible. The timing presented at the end of the crossword is always 00:00, the puzzles clear if u scroll across screens, previous decisions to not allow solutions on vertical crossword answers to be displayed horizontal. The poor way u delete, the fact articles don’t load and the overall reduction in the experience makes me wonder whether they bother with any user testing, but instead listened to the developers on what great code they had just developed. If they are doing user testing I wonder whether the users actually used the app that was delivered in prod.

In the last few months there are several articles per edition that fail to load. Have tried deleting and reinstalling with no luck. WiFi speed and iPad storage are both plentiful.

Won’t work offline even when I have already downloaded editions, which is hopeless when travelling even after changing settings.

Puzzles randomly wipe themselves especially if you accidentally leave the page you are on.

It’s enough to make you subscribe to The Telegraph!

When doing a puzzle (eg sudoku), if I inadvertently cause it to scroll to the next screen, when I go back everything is deleted. This is extremely annoying. Please get it sorted.

This is the best newspaper app by far but there is a glitch that many of the articles don’t appear if text size is set to large. I have reinstalled and it persists. One star will go straight back to five as soon as it is fixed. Thank you

There is an issue loading pages. This has started in the past few days. You just see a spinning circle, if you go back a few articles or forward a few articles and then back to the page you are trying to view it does fix the issue.
Update - after trying to explain the page loading issues via email with the help desk, The Times have denied there is an issue despite it is clear that others are having the same issue. Appalling customer service!

Not sure what’s going on but now have an issue when swiping through articles on Times Classic edition. Various articles don’t load and you’re left with a buffering wheel, the only way to get to the article is close the app and reopen which solves the issue on that particular article. You have to continually go through this process whilst reading the paper as it affects multiple articles. Very irritating and happening on different devices so not a hardware issue.

UPDATE 
The App worked for a while but now is bad again. Hard to read off line - I am a tube user. You have to close and reopen the app multiple times, this bug has appeared in the last couple of weeks. 

I see the developers are still being disingenuous as below, offer to speak to people but then you’re told this can’t happen when you email. Please sort this all out. 

Worst thing is not how bad quality of the app is now it has been changed and getting worse, but that the developers reply to these reviews asking you to get in touch. I tried to do this and was told by customer services it’s not possible. Would be good to understand why this offer is being made in bad faith.

About 20% of articles don’t open, you just get a spinning progress circle that never completes. Only workaround is to completely close app and restart it. Very annoying so please fix as a matter of urgency.
