Det finns snyggare och mer avancerade men Thumbjam är överlägset den roligaste, nyttigaste, mest intuitiva och den som får en att faktiskt göra mer musik. Suverän för att få ner snabba idéer, eller improvisera och lätt att leka med olika skalor utan att kunna någon musikteori. Med kopieringsfunktionen är det också lätt att göra en sekvens och lägga in i andra appar och väldigt smidigt att exportera loopar för att jobba vidare med i datorn. Dessutom utnyttjar den verkligen iPadens unika egenskaper på ett sätt som ingen annan app jag testat gör. Väldigt rolig att använda som MIDI-kontroller över wifi och tilta och skaka och dra med till sin favoritsynth i t.ex. Cubase. Its fun, its intuitive, but not only that, it is actually also very useful! Sure, it can be a bit tricky sometimes to have perfect control when having a large span of the range, and yes, a few minor things can be improved. But it is by far the absolutely best musical instrument I have found for the iPhone and is easy to use to build sequences for "jotting down" musical ideas when the computer is not at hand. But I can see this used even for live performances. The list of scales is a joy for me who seldom uses "normal" scales in my music. The ability to tweek the performance style of the instruments to fit my desire to control pitch-bend, pan, volume and such is great. The sounds are remarkable, especially considering that this is a small-memory library for a mobil phone.
