## TouchOSC Mk1 Description
TouchOSC is a modular OSC and MIDI control surface for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad by hexler.

It supports sending and receiving Open Sound Control and MIDI messages over Wi-Fi and CoreMIDI inter-app communication and compatible hardware.

The application allows to remote control and receive feedback from software and hardware that implement the OSC or MIDI protocols such as Apple Logic Pro/Express, Ableton Live, Renoise, Pure Data, Max/MSP/Jitter, Max for Live, OSCulator, VDMX, Resolume Avenue/Arena, Modul8, Plogue Bidule, NI Traktor, NI Reaktor, Quartz Composer, Supercollider, vvvv, Isadora and many others.

The interface provides a number of customizable touch controls to send and receive messages:

Faders / Rotary controls / Encoder controls / Push buttons / Toggle buttons / XY pads / Multi-faders / Multi-push / Multi-toggles / Multi-xy pads / LEDs / Labels / Time & battery displays

Additionally the program can send Accelerometer data. The application comes with example layouts and completely custom layouts can be constructed using the free TouchOSC Editor application.

### ***** "Sehr gut mit RetouchDuo & Propellerhead Reason"
Ich hab RetouchDuo 4.0 Templates in TouchOSC auf einem iPad Pro installiert um Propellerhead Reason 11 unter MacOS Catalina zu steuern. Das funktioniert sehr gut. Reason Synthesizer usw. sind für mich so viel leichter zu bedienen als mit der Maus. Das Aufnehmen von echten Instrumenten & Stimme ist deutlich bequemer, da ich die Transport und Sequencer Control nun auf dem iPad bequem zur Tonquelle mitnehmen kann. Tip: statt der IP Adresse für den Mac kann man auch den Namen im Format "macname.local" verwenden!

Benutze die App seit Jahren immer wieder, meist wenn ich ein Custom Interface benötige. Der Editor ist tatsächlich ein bisschen altmodisch, aber er funktioniert trotzdem gut. Layouts auf dem device direkt bearbeiten wäre natürlich noch das Tüpfelchen auf dem I. Sehr verlässlich, läuft spitze auch auf älteren Geräten und das Geld auf jeden Fall wert. Vielen Dank!

Ich versuche die App OSC über mein iPad 2018 mit Ableton Live 10 über live Control zu verbinden jedoch geht das über live Control nur für die Ableton Live 8 oder 9 aber nicht für 10. und ich kein Englisch kann wäre eine ausführliche Beschreibung auf deutsch wie ich alles miteinander verbinden kann. Vielleicht kann mir auch hier jemand weiter helfen. Ich würde mich sehr freuen

Diese App ist an sich ganz nett, benötigt aber dringend mal ein Update. Der Editor ist usabilitytechnisch nicht mehr auf der Höhe der Zeit, und es ist nicht einmal möglich, Strings als Werte zu senden. Und das, obwohl es schon einige Anfragen zu diesem Feature gab. Eine OSC App sollte wenigstens die Spezifikation vollständig unterstützen. Vorhin wollte ich mich dann im Forum registrieren, und das ist auch nicht mehr möglich. Für eine bezahlte App ist das echt schwach.

Es ist nicht möglich, ohne Editor, wofür man dann nochmal Geld bezahlen muss, eigene Layouts zu bauen. Es ist auch nicht möglich, bestehende Layouts anzupassen. Der Editor läuft entweder auf Mac oder Windows. So ein Schwachsinn habe ich ja wohl noch nicht erlebt!

### ****- "Beste OSC app aber"
Aber es fehlt das senden von Strings, was die Arbeit mit Empfängern die OSC Strings verstehen sehr erleichtern würde. Zb ein dj namen in einem Osc gesteuertem live visual zu setzen oder sysex kommandos und vieles mehr zu triggern.
Ansonsten durchaus die beste OSC protokoll App die ich kenne.

Da lob ich mir Logic Remote das geht immer und kostet nichts.

Verbindungsaufbau schwierig, oft genug muss Logic oder auch die App neu gestartet werden.
Wenn es denn läuft ganz ok. An diese klickibunti Oberfläche muss man sich allerdings gewöhnen.

Schon oft hat mir der Mixer den Mix in Logic zerschossen, weil die App nicht die Mixerwerte von Logic übernommen hat sondern erst ihre Werte gesendet hat.
Im Mixer keine Pegelanzeigen.
Anleitung nicht als gut lesbares Pdf verfügbar.
Das Lesen auf der Webseite verursacht ja Augenkrebs.
Als Spielerei ganz gut aber noch nicht ernsthaft zu gebrauchen.
Logic Remote läuft auch im vorhandenen Wlan gut. Mit dieser App eigentlich nur wenn man ein eigenes Netz zwischen Mac und IPad aufbaut. Zu umständlich.
Wechselt man zwischendurch das Bedienpad in der App, geht gar nichts mehr und Logic und die App muss neu gestartet werden.
Alles in allem, noch ein ganz schöner Krampf.

...was soll ich noch sagen? Ich könnt heulen vor Glück :o) ... Installiert, Überblick verschafft und nach 2 Stunden war der Triple VCO der Diva vernetzt. Jetzt wird hier erstmal alles verdrahtet und getouched...! Ein wahres Traumwerkzeug was gerade durch Minimalismus wieder die Freude am Musikmachen enorm steigert. I love it.., MfG
