Won’t let you update baggage allowance

When adding baggage allowance for a round trip flight, it wasn’t clear to me it was per flight, and I ended up purchasing checked baggage for each passenger for one flight, and none for the return flight. I only wanted one bag total for each flight. Customer service won’t move the baggage allowance for me so I’m just out $80 now. Nice!

Formal Complaint Regarding Mainland Ctrip Customer Service Supervisor

While browsing hotels on the mainland version of Ctrip, I was previously unaware of the international version of Ctrip. Due to international flight arrangements and traveling with an infant, which made it difficult to book immediately, my Ctrip account was restricted from self-service hotel searches without any reason provided. When I contacted a customer service supervisor, I was told that the restriction could not be lifted due to “abnormal queries” and no clear explanation of which Ctrip policy I had violated was given. I received a message stating that I could contact a live agent to book hotels. After consulting with the agent and obtaining information about three hotels, the call was unexpectedly disconnected, and the agent refused to respond to follow-up calls. When I called again, I was told that a customer service supervisor would return my call within half an hour. Shortly after, I discovered that my account had been blocked, preventing me from connecting to any live agent. This is a case of account mis-suspension. The supervisor displayed a rude attitude and refused to provide reasons for the account restriction, ultimately blocking the customer entirely. My domestic phone number is linked to a membership level, but since I have been using a Canadian local number for a long time, there is no booking history under the new number. On Chinese social media platforms, there are numerous reports of customers being mis-suspended and blocked by customer service. I have preserved all recordings and screenshots of my interactions. I am unsure whether the above actions are condoned by Ctrip’s senior management. If they are, I will not continue to pursue this matter and will uninstall Ctrip permanently. I sincerely request the intervention of Ctrip’s international department.

booked a flight on August 20 through Trips.com for travel from October 18 to November 16. On August 22, I received an email stating that my flight was delayed by 15 minutes. I immediately called Trips.com to reject the schedule change and requested either a reschedule or cancellation. However, I was asked to pay a $227 cancellation fee, even though the delay was not my fault and this fee was not mentioned in the cancellation policy. I also contacted the airline directly, and they confirmed I would have received a full refund if I had booked with them. Since I booked through Trips.com, they said it's Trips.com's responsibility to handle the refund. It has now been over a month with no resolution. Very disappointed with the service — I will not be booking with Trips.com again.

You told me that I would receive a callback for a supervisor within 30mins to 1 hour. I have waited for 24 HOURS!! I then called back asking what’s up only to be told that you had NO RECORD of me reaching out and even less of a supervisor plan to call me back!!! You LIES to my face telling me that I CANCELED my outgoing leg of my checked luggage (but mysteriously kept my inbound checked luggages)?!?! Only to turn around and say I have paid my checked luggage’s separately?!?! Then turn around and say that the airline cancelled my outbound checked luggage and that it was up to me to deal with the situation?!?! I have PAID YOU to get my checked luggage. I have spent 5 days trying to get this situation fixed with YOU!!! After all of this I know that “offering” your support after having read my previous bad review is only performative to look good to others who will read my review!!! If I go to a store and order a pair of Nike, then the store ships one shoe , refunds me the value for one shoe and tells me to reach out to Nike because they canceled the production of one shoe out of a pair because of some ridiculous “policy”… and that I cannot return the one never used shoe to get a refund… You can be assured that this store will not see one more penny from me. That is EXACTLY what you did to me. And I will certainly not just shut up and take it up……… NOTE FOR EVERYONE : Unsurprisingly I went to BBB to file an official complaint and trip.com doesn’t show up as being a BBB accredited business… You have been warned.

I have paid for two ways checked luggages through TRIP. TRIP took half of my payment then cancelled half resulting in me only having one way checked luggages. Then they turn around saying I cancelled it myself. Only later to be claiming that the airline cancelled and it is up to me fix TRIP own mess!!! Since when do people go to a store to order shoes get shipped one shoe and giving as an excuse that the manufacturer botched the order and it is up to the customer to reach out to the manufacturer?!? Disgusting and abhorrent business practice. You have been warned!
