Sadly, this was supposedly my only option as an in person ID check would involve a 3 hour round trip (not even available at the NHS trust I was joining).

But I did get it to work eventually and so I’m sharing to help other future frustrated NHS workers…

First I downloaded with my google pixel smartphone, which didn’t work. I got the step 3.

Then I tried using my iPad (I don’t own an iphone). 

I got further on my iPad, it accepted the photo of my passport and selfie worked ok, but then wouldn’t get past the bit when the chip reader opens (step 5 I think).

So I did all the steps recommended including uninstalling and reinstalling the app, closing the app, restarting my iPad. Used the chrome browser. And that still didn’t work. Then I went back to my smartphone, reinstalled the app, restarted the smartphone, used the chrome browser…. And it worked! 

What a piece of sh#t software. It probably took me 3 hours to do this on my holiday. All so that I can prove my ID to a trust that I used to work at for 6 years. What’s wrong with just showing your passport at the interview!!?

Need to do an identification confirmation for my DBS they told me to follow the link and download the app then I went back to the start screen and it kept saying I don’t have the app. Deleted the app and redid the whole process again and it’s still saying I don’t have the app

The problem with reviews for this app is that people download it as a one-off, for an unusual/new process, that’s a little unintuitive. As such, the majority of reviews are just there to complain when something goes wrong.

As far as I can tell the app worked swiftly and well. I believe many people’s issues will be with the process rather than the app itself.

I’m a doctor and rather than helping patients I’m forced to go through this glitchy app where the process fails to recognise the app is downloaded. Like many other reviews here, very disappointing. Just shows what a failure the tech systems in the NHS are. If we had better tech, patient experience would be much better. So disappointing.

### *---- "Got stuck at scanning chip - how to resolve"
Thanks to the previous review, I resolved this issue - rebooted the phone, opened safari (do not swipe it away before turning off!) and it continued from the last step where I left. I didn’t need to restart the process again. 
But this is frustrating and you are risking to loose all your input and waste your time again and again.
Hope this will draw developers attention and they will fix it.

Hi All. To use this after install make sure you restart your iPhone (press volume up let go then press down let go and then press and hold power till phone goes off and restarts and let go once apple logo is displayed)
After this your trust is will work. 

Giving it one star as this should be explained by the developer

Used for ID check for a job using iPhone 14.

App would not work, connect, etc on the first pass of trying. Followed guidance from another review, powered down and back up again, went back to the application page on Safari and (magically) it realised the app was there. At least I didn’t need to redo the whole application again… 

Should not need such work arounds for such a simple application - 1 star.

Iphone 15 Max Pro

If the browser says you haven’t downloaded the app (even though you have), swipe off all the apps and restart your phone. Worked for me after doing that…
