I have been trying for a whole day to get the verification code to log in this app… but since I am based in the UK, I never got this code. Now I guess I’m just paying for nothing…..

Mango TV was good but recently the format has been changed and now it doesn’t seem to have any ENG subtitled programmes listed. I had just paid the subscription and now can’t find anything worth the fee

Sadly this app and all other forms of MGTV have completely bailed out of providing English subs, even if they were AI generated, at least they were there. I am dropping my subscription until they return, if ever. I will jump back to YouTube if I am desperate, but the whole idea of the app and paying for a subscription was so I didn’t have to suffer the audio cutouts and get actual HD quality playback. Please one day remember your international users, we like dramas as well :)

The videos are worth the relatively low subscription fee for VIP access, I think as 1080 HDR looks SO much better even on my iPad mini 5: offer on at the moment for 99p per month for 3 months before reverting to £1.99 per month which compared to Amazon Prime Video is quite reasonable. True quite a few of the older drama’s are out on other platforms now but, not in HDR! There are only two things that need improvement. Firstly the English subtitles are still a bit patchy here & there even on the drama that was first aired 1.5 years ago & Amazon Prime Video has that series with full subtitles: albeit on Amazon the underlying Chinese subtitles are patchy underneath the English ones that causes flickering & distortion across that area of the screen where they go as does the Mango TV logo; there’s no logo at all or any flickering of the subtitles, that are there, & the video quality is MUCH better on HDR with this app! And as for YouTube, the quality of the videos are even worse: the sound quality of “Love Story of Court Enemies” is either missing chunks with complete silence or very distorted on every one of the 25 episodes! I don’t mind waiting longer, 1.5 years for the one I’m watching now, for subtitles as I prefer to watch series in one go, repeatedly actually to get my “ear” in, & wouldn’t have the patience, or want the frustration, to wait for translators to subtitle live or new programmes! Secondly the player is very basic & it’s hard to pause scenes precisely to SEE the subtitles which are very fast, in line with how fast the dialogue is spoken in the drama I’m watching, as I need to touch the screen for the pause & next buttons to appear & press the pause button on the bottom left: sometimes accidentally pressing the next button & the next episode is loaded instead. An automatic pause when you touch the screen is much more preferable & can be turned off & on as the player already has a lock & unlock feature so, that would make things much easier to read subtitles until I get my “ear” in tune faster as I watch more: until I get to the point I can “hear” as much as I’m going to hear & hardly need them anymore; Hakka & Cantonese is what I speak & I can’t read or write Chinese so, I need the English subs, at least to start with, with drama’s spoken in Mandarin!

Why say a drama has full English subtitles. But it not updated to have any English subs. Bit disappointed that I have left quite a few dramas halfway because of this it?

Downloaded and paid VIP membership in order to watch Dance Smash （舞蹈风暴）, just to find out that key dances are still cut and removed from the show, including the winning dance! So disappointing! Another let down was that I couldn’t project the show from my iPhone to the TV screen.

Why has the free version of call me by fire and boyhood been removed?
