Browse and Import Open the recipe browser to automatically import recipes from popular sites or paste the URL of a recipe you want to add. Cook Mode Get in the zone by tapping the "Start Cooking" button on any recipe to see an interactive checklist of ingredients as well as step-by-step directions. Grocery Lists Create shared lists with family and friends, add groceries directly from your recipes, and automatically organize items by aisle or by recipe. It would be great to have a feature to highlight as a favourite. Im using a tag for that currently but a favourite button that also files into a new folder would be kind of neat. It’s also really easy to use and set up and the fact you can import recipes from multiple place including scanning books is so great. Love that you can have multiple recipe books and have the option to share them! The groceries lists are great in that when you tick something off it doesn’t disappear from your list so you don’t need to keep adding things each time. You can also have multiple lists which is handy if you don’t do your shop all at one shop. It would be great if you could have the option to move items between shopping lists as sometimes when adding items, they don’t go into the right list if you have multiple grocery lists. I’d also love it if the untucked grocery items from a list were all listed at the top when you use the ‘ungroup’ option in the grocery list as it would make shopping a lot easier! So looked around for another recipe management app that’s cheaper and better and Umami definitely delivers on both fronts!! Love the timer function when cooking, so much easier than setting timer with Siri. Importing is a breeze from websites- only comment is it doesn’t import recipe notes. Importing is accurate. Also importing from an actual cookbook is accurate to which is not the case at all times with Cookbook app. Another feature that can be improved is the photos, photos are cropped when uploaded which is annoying but not a deal breaker. I love this app so much, I use it every day and I’ve had it for a long time! I love that I can just copy the url to import a recipe (though not every website allows this). You can add your chosen recipes to plan your meals for the week and it generates a shopping list for you! It’s given me incentive to add all my favourite recipes in (you can scan from your cookbooks as well!) so it’s all contained in one place! And I can share the app with family as well! Which means I can plan the meals and buy the groceries but my husband can then open the app and cook the meal for dinner :) You do have to share each recipe book and meal plan separately but I think this is a good function so that you could share different things with different family members. You could create a Christmas recipe book that contains all the meals you make at Christmas and share it with the family members who help you cook! The only small problem is sometimes the app has trouble with fractions and special characters. I have to manually remove weird characters when the app brings in a fraction (e.g it brings it in as “½ cup”) and I have to replace some words that contain special characters (e.g. “tomato purée” instead of tomato purée) Overall, this is a minor inconvenience and I still adore the app regardless. Would also love if you could somehow search the recipes by tag to add to the meal plan - not sure if it could be possible but would be nice to be able to say “I want a curry dish this week” and search for the tag “Curry” that I have added to some of my recipes. Thank you so much for creating this app!
