## Verizon Family Description
Help keep your family safe and connected on the go with Verizon Family. With features such as Location sharing, Parental Controls, Safe Walk with SOS, Crash Detection, Roadside Assistance, and Family Line all in one app.

From a single app, you can:
- Use content filtering
- Monitor and limit Verizon call and text activity on smartphones
- Limit Verizon data usage on smartphones or connected tablets
- Monitor web and app activity
- Manage screen time
- Pause internet
- Use location sharing, pick-me-up and check-in features
- Get location alerts
- View driving activity

Basic location sharing and 24/7 Assist are now available on your Smartwatch via Watch OS. Location services such as Safe Walk are not available at this time.

Legal: To use the Verizon Family app, a Verizon standard monthly postpaid account on an eligible device or an invitation from a Verizon account is required. Verizon postpaid mobile plans include Verizon Family location sharing features at no add’l cost or upgrade to Verizon Family Plus ($14.99/mo until canceled) for location sharing and alerts, parental controls for calls, texts and online activity, driving insights and roadside assistance. Roadside assistance through Signature Motor Club, 4 events/yr. Verizon Family app download required. Service does not monitor calls or texts sent over the internet and does not contact 911 for crash or SOS alerts. Push notifications must be enabled to see when new members join family acct. Some alerts sent via text message. Msg & data rates apply.

This app worked well for about a week. It constantly unpairs itself with my daughter’s phone. Right now it says that it has paused my daughter’s phone and she’s using her phone perfectly well. Very frustrating. Can’t rely on it to both stay paired up with your child’s phone and also to control the phone when it says it is. Waste of money.

I added my daughter to my Verizon family and it doesn’t even update. It updated her location the first time when I connected her to the app and after that it never updated again. I don’t understand why it would not work everything is set up correctly app is up to date. Even when she leaves it says updated 11 hours and 46 minutes ago.. not a good day to make sure my princess is safe

Do yourself a favor and get any app but this one. It is so buggy and unreliable that we can never discern what our teen is doing to turn the limitations on and off versus where the app is having an issue. As such, makes it super hard to hold our kiddo accountable because they know they can blame the app and we tend to err on the side of trusting our child when in doubt. There are so many similar complaints in the forums that I wish we would have gone with something else. No way to stop them from just disabling VPN or one of the many other ways to get around the app working.

Updated our phone to iOS 18.1.1.  Now Verizon Family does not block texts or calls on the child phones. The app does NOT block RCS calls or texts.  What's the point of paying for the app if it no longer allows you to block certain calls or texts?  Verizon Safety indeed. Disappointed- we've used the app for a couple of years but now it's no good.

Overall this is a good app for parents trying to monitor their children’s screen time. It is lacking some features that would improve the quality performance. One thing that is desperately needed is an app time limit. Right now the only option is to allow or block an app. Kids can learn good habits by limiting the amount of time on an app and figuring out how to manage their time wisely while on their device.

This app used to be fairly accurate tracking all calls and texts on my secondary line but not so much since the November 2024 update. It doesn’t report about half of the text messages sent or received and misses every incoming call on my monitored device.

I’m a new Verizon customer and I’m so very frustrated. This app is just another strike against them.  I can’t get past the registration. It asks me to log in. I log in, it’s asks me to select the $15/mo or free option. But there is nothing I can click on. There’s. “Skip for now” button so I click that. Now I’m back at the log in screen… repeat… so maybe the app is great for those that can log in, but I’m stuck. So frustrating!

Since downloading the app and adding the service to my plan, the app has not worked correctly. It does not accurately track my daughter’s texts or calls. I have spent hours on the phone and chatting with their help line and have had no resolution. They assured me they were escalating my case, but that was weeks ago and I have yet to hear back.

After weeks of frustration and poor advice/support from tech, it turns out that Verizon has not figured out how to prevent the disabling of the app from the child’s end.  How unbelievably stupid.  Worse, Verizon’s response to my incredulity at this situation was, ‘it was like that when you signed up’ - as if somehow I was at fault for not knowing they had not actually developed this product as advertised.  As of October ‘24 you will be charged full price for a bait and switch service as Verizon willfully withholds knowledge that it does not perform as advertised.

I like the new app update as it is finally starting to look a little more like I originally thought it was going to be when I signed up for the paid subscription. I expected it to be so much better than the free apps- similar to Life360- but verizon based. It is slowly getting there but please continue to update this app to make it as good or better than Life360. We do pay for this after all and it should blow the free apps away imo.
