This application is designed to provide up to date information about bush fire data in Victoria, Australia for iPhone, iPad and iPod users.
It utilises data from the Victorian Country Fire Authority/Victorian Department of Sustainability data feeds on fires, wind data from the Bureau of Meteorology with your current location provided by the iPhone GPS.
Using this information the application is able to provide a list of fires showing the nearest ones first, helping you to understand your current situation.
The information is reliant on both the accuracy of the iPhone GPS and the data recorded on the CFA's website.
This application does not cache any data, so Internet access (either Wireless. 3G or GPRS) is required to access the data.
We have enabled this application for the iPod Touch as well, but note that the GPS location and therefore distance from the fire may be unreliable.
Be aware that while P4G has utilised "best efforts" to provide this information to you, it is not intended to replace other sources of information on the fire situation near you. Also remember that fire and weather can change quickly.

Setting issue persisting
Settings don’t update as requested. Now a serious issue with current fires as app is unable to show Watch & Act details.
Better than the VicEmergency App
Far more feature-rich than the VicEmergency app. Happy I found it and made the switch
Better Than Vic Emergency App
I’ve had this app for a few years. It’s been a godsend- especially when the Vic Emergency app has failed to notify us about a couple of nearby fires. As in, not even notified us! 🤨 Heartily recommend it for everyone who lives and visits Victoria. The toggles for tweaking the alerts are great, the WIND DIRECTION.. I mean, knowing the probable wind direction and speed is Crucial in an emergency situation. I love the colour coded aspect for the wind as well. One glance at the map and I can enact the fire plan or continue to monitor. I’m so grateful for this info and the app in general.
Mistake on Map!
No roundabout at near where the present fire is in Albert Street, Sebastopol, Victoria. There are lights at this intersection for sometime now.
Return of a feature
I would like the distances from my location shown. If I am travelling it helps me be aware of dangers close by.
Very useful app!!
Very useful app, as a Tow Truck Driver this is very handy instead of using a radio scanner to listen for accidents, with Watchzones set for our area it makes life so much easier
Really bad
My properties under the threat it hasn’t been updated for days and the information is sketchy at best really really bad possibly dangerous
