The free version is identical to the paid version except for two things:

1) The free version shows adverts.
2) The free version won't let you browse to open files from the remote. You'll have to get up of your sofa and do that manually until you upgrade!

• It is an annual subscription. It lets you use all commands including browsing for an unlimited number of devices.

• Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period
• Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period

It’s not working, prompting me with a WARNING!!! sign to download the how to do software/ app on my laptop. It has this 90’s scarcity mood of spamming. I will never download that potential virus. Reading older reviews backdated 7-8 years which indicates similar experiences. The new reviews are all 5 stars stating how amazing this app is. I looked for a way to flag this with the App Store but couldn’t easily find a way to do it so I leaving a review which I rarely do normally. I think this app should be overlooked but a developer or someone who can determine if this app is legit or not. 

I hopefully get a response on this review.

### ***** "It’s great! VERY easy setup on Linux!"
The setup on my Linux system was extremely easy. Three steps and the app found my computer and I have access to all my files.

On my iPhone 12 Pro Max the app works brilliantly, not only can I browse my files, I can set VLC to full screen and vice versa. I can also control the playback and other basic functions. I haven’t checked out the more advanced functions yet but there is plenty of functions.

To get access to ALL functions, it will cost £4.99 ANNUALLY, which is cheap as chips. But there is a week’s trial so you can explore all the functions in peace and quiet.

This is actually the first and only app I will pay for annually because it’s worth the money.

So now I can watch whatever I want on my projector without getting up from my bed.

Well done to the developer and it’s a must have app.

Unfortunately with the latest iOS upgrade to version 10.51.0(133) the search field in the playlist no longer works. There is a very long pause between each letter keyed in and the app hangs after the third letter is typed. Copy & paste of text doesn’t work either.

iPhone on iOS 14.0.1 paired with a MacBook running macOS 10.12.6 and VLCSerup 3.70.

Perhaps this is an issue only in the free version?

Worked very well at home, but with the same laptop and same phone in a hotel I couldn’t get it to work after hours of trying. With Iphone and laptop connected to the same hotel Wi-fi, the app showed hundreds of 191.168.x.x addresses but none was my PC. Pity, as my only use requirement was in a hotel while travelling. So, no point in buying the full version.  If the authors have any ideas I’d be happy to try them.  Why not a Bluetooth connection instead of Wi-Fi?
