Wagotabi: Learn Japanese

Oltre a essere utile, davvero, permette di imparare con facilità dalle basi. Da usare come supporto allo studio, non come metodo principale (non è lo scopo di questa applicazione). Il gioco è in pieno stile giapponese. Tutto curatissimo in ogni dettaglio.

Ho iniziato a studiare il giapponese da autodidatta qualche mese fa. Ho iniziato con Duolingo, e fino ad un certo punto è andata bene. Sfortunatamente diventa presto difficile dato che mancano le spiegazioni base della granmatica e viene tradotto in modo poco efficace in inglese…non sono una persona che riesce a studiare tanto da sola, quindi con Anki non mi trovo bene…ho acquistato Genki per studiare ma non sono una persona molto costante, quindi per un paio di mesi ho smesso completamente…ieri ho trovato quest’app casualmente mentre giravo sull’app store, di nuovo vogliosa di ricominciare a studiare! L’idea è magnifica e amo i videogame quindi per me quest’app è perfetta. È come studiare su genki ma in un videogioco! Adoro l’immersione immediata, la storia, ed il fatto che siano presenti da subito kanji con il furigana. Il modo migliore per imparare è l’immersione! In più, il costo è veramente irrisorio e spero di potermi presto iscrivere al patreon per supportare ulteriormente questo progetto. State facendo un lavoro magnifico e non vedo l’ora di vedere come continuerete, state davvero creando un’opportunità unica per imparare il giapponese giocando! Magnifico! Se potessi darei altre cinque stelle!（≧∇≦）

I tried other apps before discovering Wagotabi, but none were as effective as this. I love everything about this app, it's incredibly helpful for actually learning Japanese. The explanations are clear, easy to understand, and everything you learn feels practical and useful. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in the language and culture from home. I’d love to see this available in other languages — I’d play it again and again. Thank you for the effort and dedication you put into creating this!

I hope more and more content is added

This is a pretty great game, the first language learning game that I actually found fun, but the audio isn’t working for me. It worked my first time playing but now there’s just nothing, I checked my volume, Bluetooth, and in game settings, but there’s just nothing. Edit: oh my god right after writing this review I tried flipping the physical “do not disturb” switch on my iPhone and it unmuted the game audio. Why????? Why would you make it work like that? Please change that 😭

This game is amazing, I haven’t gotten super far into it and I already know hiragana and am learning Katakana and some Kanji. This is a perfect addition for anyone looking to learn Japanese and add a little bit more fun into it. Plus it is teaching you super useful things, like immersion but a couple thousand dollars cheaper and people won’t judge you and start speaking English when you didn’t catch what they said the first time in Japanese, you can just replay it and get instant visual feedback with kana and explanations.

One of the best developed learning Japanese RPG games I’ve played so far. Please download and support this game and developer. Can’t wait for them to add more content to this game ! Thank you for your hard work!

This app is fantastic! It makes studying feel like playing a game, which is awesome. It’s definitely for beginners. I’m not a beginner, but I’m still having a great time. I hope they add intermediate and advanced levels in the future.
