A serious meditation app

Waking up does not treat meditation like a stress ball the way some others do. They really treat it like a tool to explore different states of existence in a very meaningful way. The stress ball apps can be a good complement though!

…why do I need internet connection to use it all of a sudden? I’m a subscriber, I have downloaded material, I use the meditation timer. What I don’t have is a reliable internet connection where I want to use the app.

I love the app and the way of teaching and the quality of topics discussed. Never thought that I would find a meditation app the I like, but Waking Up changed that. Keep the great work! One tip for improvement: the distinction between the content under Life and Theory isn’t always clear. I recommend using a UX card sorting workshop with users to better categorize the content and rethink the sections.

I've tried a number of mindfulness apps over the years but Waking Up is on a whole different level. It's simultaneously deeper and more scientific, yet also more guided: it gives you a great sense of progress in your meditative abilities, yet helps you unshackle yourself from the concept of "progress" altogether. It's strange and profound. I'm on year 3 now with Waking Up and it has helped me live a much more examined and mindful life. But I still have so much further to go and Waking Up is a wonderful partner along on this journey.

So much good content in this app. I’m trying to do the daily meditation. Also can recommend the conversations which are more like a podcast. Chose a topic you find interesting. And I’m regularly using sleep meditations for power naps and resting, so helpful for me. Big thanks to Sam Harris and everyone else working with Waking Up.
