I don’t have space for the books, and the mandate of unnecessary physical objects pushes the carbon burden of playing the game far higher than it needs to be. There’s some easy solutions. Then you need the actual battletomes for each army you want to play (£30) which will be useless in a few years. Free warscrolls were a huge selling point that lead me to pick up a second army. Now all gone. Checking the abilities of opponents allowed for fairer play. Gone. Untill 4th edition of AoS, warscrolls for all armies have been freely available and it is a significant blow to the goodwill that I and many others hold toward the system to take something which has always been free and lock it behind a £30+ purchase.
