Waze Navigation & Live Traffic

I just started using the app. I think it is wonderful but it has a navigation flaw. When you know your area and no longer need the app for directions, you are not able to terminate the route. Because I know where I live, I sometimes like to save my battery life by closing out the map app. This app does not allow you to close out a route prior to the end of your destination. It forces you to arrive at your destination before you are able to close the app. This is a Big negative for me. I have to go back to using my google maps.

Update** developer’s response is garbage. Every time I’ve reported an issue, I get a reply that they can’t help because they don’t know where it is that it happened. Because I report something after I arrive to my destination so I don’t do it while driving. They need it reported at the area it happened so they can see where it is. Sure, you can submit a report after the fact, but it won’t do anything. I can screenshot each of my reports to dispute the developer’s response. I challenge them to do the same (they can’t)

Overheating

The only navigation app the doesn’t auto turn off background activity when disconnected from CarPlay. You can not use Waze, but if it runs on CarPlay, you’ll need to manually close it from your phone. Seems like an easy fix, but it’s been like that for a long time.

LONG time user here, use daily and prefer to all other nav options. BUT, we need a dark mode icon.

What does Arabian Gulf means? Have you ever read a geography book?

Not working after iOS 18 installed! Frozen right after opening or closing by itself after short freeze. Update: After some research, it came out that reinstalling the app resolved the issue. I suggest to add it to the work around method until it fixed with next update.

Love Waze it’s all I use now. I do wish there was a feature that it showed there was an active train whenever you have to use a street where they pass

I thought that with a major revision number we’d see some cool new change. But the only thing I have noticed is that it now has the same sloppy all-over-the-place performance as Google Maps. Lagging over CarPlay. Is Apple deliberately making sure 3rd party gps apps don’t run as smooth and snappy as Apple Maps? Or does Google not care about iOS? I wonder.

Love you all to move the ability to alert drivers by moving the triangle icon from the lower right corner to the lower left corner and move the speed sign to the lower right corner. Quite the stretch to add stuff with the new large vehicle displays now days making hard to reach the icon
