Indispensable app
I use my Apple Watch Ultra exclusively for workout tracking, maps, etc, primarily running. I do not even think I would continue using the Ultra as my go to device without this app.
Infinitely configurable and it just works, all the time.
In my Top 10 apps of all time.
The MAPS!
I love hiking and biking and hate having to pull my phone out to check the map. Having the maps downloaded on my wrist in a totally usable format is absolutely amazing. No more bringing the phone!
Excellent
After a year and a half of use, WorkOutDoors remains my favorite activity tracking app.
Really a nice app
Lots of metrics that can be change for one’s tastes. Used lots of other apps, installed this a few days ago. Lots of info including a map if wanted. The dev put a great deal of effort in it.
Delete all your other running apps
Where has this been all my life? I was a diehard paying Runkeeper user for 10+ years but watched it steadily stagnate over the past few years (don't even get me started on their buggy Apple Watch app). I tried Strava five different times over the course of several years but kept getting annoyed by the appallingly limited utility it offers serious runners and how insipidly dumb the whole social self-promotion component of it was. Tried the default Apple Watch Activities app, which to its credit, at least worked consistently and wasn't as bug riddled as the other running apps, but kept bumping into customization limitations, especially with the layout of the Watch app screens. Tried Nike Run Club twice and was instantly turned off by the social aspect and the dumb inspirational coaching. Finally found this app through some Reddit and Quora discussions and decided to give it a try. WOW! I'm only about a month into using it, but I'm still blown away by all the customization capabilities. This is clearly an app developed by serious runners for runners, not by the marketing department of a lifestyle brand. I've only begun to scratch the surface of what this app does, and to be fair, it's daunting, but I'll be darned if it isn't exactly what I've been looking for all these years but didn't even know it.
Worked great on a 5 day hike!
I used this app while on a 5 day hike in Norway with my Apple Watch Ultra. I used it to download a map and trail for offline usage, due to no cell service. The app worked great with absolutely no problems! Made navigation so easy. I also setup alerts if my heart rate went too high and if I went off trail too far, both of which worked well.
My only complain is the app is kinda complex. Lots of settings and stuff, not the most intuitive.
Two Years Tons of Miles, Love It
This app is an amazing tool to turn an Apple Watch into something as close to an actual workout tool as you could want. The maps are amazing and clear on my big ole watch and a perfect aid for trail running. The app has never crashed in the hundreds of times that I’ve used it. More importantly, when my old Crapple Watch would fail, and the battery die 1/2 through a run, WOD always saved my file. A blessing not to lose that data. Big thanks for the years together. WELL worth the $.
So many great features
Really love this app. There is a ton of great info that I get each time I use it. So far it seems very accurate for distances and elevation, which are the most important to me. I was thankful to find a non-subscription based app & was happy to pay a one time fee.
Fantastic
I searched for an app to link with my Ultra 2 watch. This app syncs perfectly with the watch and displays a real time map that shows route tracking. The multiple summary screens display virtually any information you may want following your outdoor activities. Additionally, the app works worldwide.
Superb. Period.
Incredibly useful. Beautifully designed. An example of the very best software.
