What is the point of syncing all your credit cards if you have to manually “assign” money to every item and type in how much you spend? I thought the app would do that for me. I could just type everything myself in excel for free… seems pointless. Update: the app reached out to me to explain how to do this. I just felt like it should be more user-friendly from the beginning. I ended up using Monarch instead since I want more expense tracking than budgeting and YNAB makes you set a budget before you can even view any “insights.” Just not the app for me.
YNAB changed my entire life for the better. There’s no way I would be financially stable and building wealth at this point without it. It can honestly be MISERABLE at first as you get used to using the app and get used to spending less, but it could not possibly be more worth it. Give it a shot, stick with it, and you won’t regret it.
YNAB is the best budget app I have ever used. It is well-worth the subscription cost, as they continue to add new features and tweaks that make the experience better every year.
There’s wonderful updates that help versus hinder. It’s an amazing way to finally get a hold of your finances without the guilt.
There was definitely a learning curve. I actually burned through the free trial period and gave up. I decided to give it another try. After watching some of the videos, I got the hang of it. I feel very disciplined and in control of my finances. Such a great feeling!
I’ve noticed recently that the app support staff is less responsive and more ineffective when I report connection issues to them for accessing my bank information. Hope things improve back to normal!
honestly, it's hard to manage and manipulate without upsetting the delicate balance of ynab. if you get it and enjoy it! yayy! if you don't then yayy you're just like me! anyway 🫶🏽 would rather buy the app for 15$ than pay a monthly fee of 15$ but whatever
It’ll Randomly Tell Me I Have Less Money In Something Like I Put 95$ Into A Category That Wasn’t In The Negative And It Just Went Down Too 20 With No Explanation
I’ve been using YNAB since 2018 and it’s definitely the reason I finally stick to a budget and my husband and I are prepared for big expenses through the year. With ADHD, I can’t explain how amazing it’s been for the way my brain works. Because we only budget what we have and not what we expect in the month, I’ve not been caught off guard and I don’t spend what we need for subscriptions or rent. We’ve paid off credit cards and a car while using. The app works great so you don’t have to use the computer.
