YNAB

I absolutely love the ynab system, but I'll be switching to a different app because the lag makes it impractical to use and track daily. My bank acct balance in the app NEVER reflects my real time balance, it takes until the next day to update, at which point there's already other transactions so it's highly impractical and ineffective

These apps keep saying free free free. But they have monthly subscription. Like why are you listed as free in ads and on google search? When it clearly isn’t free!Added my bank info onto two type of apps like this and it doesn’t even populate anything just blank. Deleting and done using these misleading apps.

When I came to YNAB, I was not a new budgeter. I had strong opinions about what worked for me, personally, and tried to continue doing things “the old way” while still using YNAB. However, I wasn’t making any progress and I knew I was not reaching the true potential of the app. 

I took one of YNAB’s online classes and decided to try things their way. I stopped trying to budget based on future income and I forced myself to cover overspending as soon as it happened. To my GREAT surprise I finally unlocked the magic of YNAB that I had heard about from so many friends. After a very short amount of time using YNAB this way I felt much more in control of my finances. Spending became an active, intentional choice — not just something that happened and I’d “figure out later.”

If you’re considering YNAB, my advice is: give it a full, honest try. Learn the method and ask yourself YNAB’s 5 questions (IYKYK). Don’t just use the app as another tracking tool — let it change how you think about your money.

Word cannot describe the immense frustration I have this app. I understand that tens of thousands of users are successful using it, but I cannot for the life of me understand why I need to spend ten+ hours learning how to use this app only for the next month to come around and completely ruin everything I worked setting up. I cannot justify spending $100+, 10-15 hours figuring out how to use it, and then hours every week making sure nothing breaks on an app. This app is hot garbage. I have given it a chance but it makes budgeting more complicated than it needs to be. I’ll go back to my excel spread sheet which has never once failed.

I love using this app and use it daily. It has saved me as I transitioned from full time work to partial retirement by helping me stay focused on my available funds. Everyone should use this app it is a game changer.

Not sure if this is due to an iOS update or not, but after the latest YNAB update there are maddening UI delays when tapping buttons, expanding fields, etc. It appears to have started after the latest update. It doesn’t make the app unusable, but produces a frustrating experience that, when combined with past UI design choices, gives the app a “one step forward, two steps back” feel. I enjoy the budgeting approach and hope the app developers figure out how to test this thing with more rigor before future updates.

Great way to keep track of finances. Just wish credit cards were a little more simple to manage and transactions came through in real time or by the end of the day. I came back to YNAB after using another budgeting app.

I love ynab and the method. But overtime with the addition of additional features that I don’t really need the app has developed a lag. Anything the developers can do to make everything more snappy, from initial app load to switching screens in app, would be greatly appreciated

I’ve been using the app for a decade and loved YNAB. However with the recent updates the app is so slow to load. It’s nearly impossible to use. Very disappointing to see the decline in quality. Please undo the unnecessary add-ons. Follow the K.I.S.S. principle.

They can’t seem to get the Fidelity accounts properly connected. I have to reauthorize them daily. PIA.
