The problem with the AHL app is that it’s user interface just isn’t that great. There’s a lot of pop-up windows and it’s hard to navigate. If I could give it zero stars…well you know the rest of that line. So glad I only popped for the 2nd half of the season for my local team the San Jose Barracuda. The IOS app is bad enough (use it on my iPad Pro) but the Apple TV app is next level horrible. Feels like it was written 20 years ago in a basement by a kid just learning programming basics. I’m not exaggerating. It really is THAT bad! The VOD search function is busted as far as I can tell. I’ve tried searching for “San Jose”, “Barracuda”, “San Jose Barracuda” and each time get zero hit results. What else exactly should I search for when I’m looking for a VOD of a San Jose Barracuda game???? Literally the only other two selections on the Home Screen are “Live By Team” and “Live By Date”, both of which are completely hit or miss that anything whatsoever will be displayed. There’s no login button. You’re prompted to login IF you can even find a stream or VOD to actually watch and IF the stream or VOD actually plays. No joke. The Apple TV app is basically totally unusable. The IOS version isn’t much better. Also feels like it’s a good 10 years plus behind the times. Crashes constantly and to watch a VOD you have to go to the AHL TV tab at the bottom and scroll through all the games. And once you find the game you want the score is prominently displayed! Great, if I know who won why watch the game at all? Come on guys, this is just basic stuff here that’s so badly executed it’s not even funny. Other reviews that talk about the bad app quality and functionality are all spot on. The AHL is really shooting itself in the foot and doing itself absolutely no favors whatsoever with this app. It’s inexcusable in this day and age for a professional sports league to fail so miserably with its app. Until it’s completely rewritten from scratch I’m going back to reading game reports the next day and will not spend another dollar of my hard earned money with the AHL on this app. Way to go guys. -- sjracer, 2023-03-16 ### **--- "Disappointing."
