Meanwhile, Bezos and Amazon executives rake in obscene wealth, buy superyachts, and avoid paying their fair share of taxes. I refuse to contribute to a system where billionaires get richer while their employees struggle to survive.

A Monopoly That Destroys Competition

Amazon isn’t just bad for workers—it’s bad for small businesses. The company undercuts independent sellers, steals product designs, and manipulates search results to push its own brands. The app might offer everything in one place, but that’s because Amazon has crushed competitors and consolidated power in ways that hurt consumers in the long run.

Final Verdict: Shop Elsewhere

The Amazon app works well, but convenience shouldn’t come at the price of ethics. If you care about workers’ rights, fair wages, and corporate accountability, consider alternatives like local businesses, direct-to-consumer brands, or ethical retailers. I refuse to support a billionaire profiting off systemic exploitation, and I hope more people do the same.

The app forced me to change my password for no discernible reason, and defaulted me to Japan - which is not where I live - and my vpn is set to my own city. Now I seem to have two passwords and/ or accounts. I’ve spent about 10mins trying to reset things only to find that it wants me to update it. It’s been clunky and slow and reluctant to cooperate. I don’t know if that’s because of the update or if it thinks I’m supposed to be in Japan. This is not smooth or fast. Please do better. I hope purchasing proves to be mere accommodating.
