This app is prefect for what it’s intended. It can beneficial or detrimental. That’s up to you. But it’s all legit and accepted by courts nationwide. It’s super simple and easily navigated. You can make payment between parents.

### *---- "Poorly designed and ill-thought out feature set"
The calendaring support on this app, one of its primary draws, is absolutely horrendous. I don’t think the app designers/developers have ever actually used a modern calendar system. They require that you view all of your apps in their app, if you want to have a combined view of all of your calendars. They don’t publish their calendars outside of the app. That’s already annoying but if you actually use calendars for work and life and try to view all of them in the app alongside your parenting calendar the whole app bogs down and can’t handle the strain.

Then turn to messaging.  Threads with your coparent aren’t searchable. So if you do need to go back and find something, your options are scroll up until you find it, export the thread to PDF or text and search it there. The apps solution, allowing you to bookmark individual messages is a largely useless feature, as you will not remember what you need to look for until after you’ve scrolled away from it.

If I didn’t have to use this app, I wouldn’t. I wish the company would invest as much in making the app useful as they clearly have in lobbying jurisdictions to mandate its use. Now, rest assured they respond with their boilerplate response indicating that they don’t actually care.

Update: If I could write lower than one star, I would. I contacted the AppClose support team before I left my original review. The support team was completely uninterested in hearing feedback about the application. Make no mistake, AppClose appears to be completely uninterested in user feedback. They have zero presence on social media so that they can avoid any responsibility their creation. They are doing the bare minimum to keep the app alive because it appears that their real goal is to sell premium services to legal practitioners. No one is paying any attention to the experience of cooarents who are directed to use this app by court order. This is what regulatory capture looks like.

I’ve been using this app for 2 years now, and it has always been unreliable.  The notifications only show up about half the time at best. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling countless times, and installing the app on other devices. Nothing seems to fix the fact that the notifications are very unreliable.

The custody schedule settings are overly complicated and easy to mess up irrevocably, especially when switching to a different schedule (e.g. summer schedule). The UI isn’t intuitive at all asking you to select a calendar when requesting reimbursements and payments taking a week + to go through. Buuuuut it’s this or a $150/year app so I guess I’m stuck with this. Even having a web/desktop version would make it so much easier to set up but it’s only on phone or tablet (and tablet is just the phone version).

This app is clunky, missing major features.

1. It’s too easy for a user to “screen” messages using their Apple Watch, meaning they can see the message on the watch and it won’t show as read in the app.

2. The app does not record video calls and does not have the option to enable recording.

3. The calendar is very difficult to notify the other parties of events - you can add an event in the app and not notify the other user.

4. Payments through the app have too many steps to complete a payment. Other apps offer much simpler ways to add payment methods such as plaid based easy sign in to existing checking accounts .

The last 2 weeks the calendar has been alerting me to events that happened a week ago, despite my only alert being sent to “1 hour before event”. Can’t search messages and have to scroll forever. Profile pictures are always deleted.

### **--- "Great in theory but very buggy"
My coparent and I have been using this app for most of the year, and I have to say that the calendar functionality often frustrates me deeply. First, it isn’t well integrated with other calendars; you can’t simply add events directly to Google Calendar or any other external calendar. To use the integration features, you must set this app as your primary calendar, which isn’t reasonable for someone who has enterprise calendars for work.

Another significant issue is that when one parent makes changes to the calendar, those changes don’t always appear on the other parent’s calendar. This has led to increased conflict, which was precisely why we initially decided to use this app. Before, we were having difficulties with updating a Google Calendar, but this app has actually created even more conflict.

We’ve reached out to customer service in the past, and their suggestion was to delete the app and reinstall it. While I appreciate that this is a free application, its basic functionality isn’t as advertised. I believe that if the app had a higher level of development and software integration—similar to many other apps— it could work more seamlessly with multiple calendars, perhaps syncing to a read-only Google Calendar on each parent’s account for use with other applications.

Additionally, I find the editing feature and user interface to be extremely confusing, even as a tech-savvy person. For example, today I made a change, and when I returned to the calendar, my entire calendar for the month had been deleted. This type of issue is a common experience when using this application.

We have been in contact with the support email/request. They do not care about helping you. They mark the conversation "solved" when nothing has been solved! We are trying to link ipayou up. We are verified! Our banking through is supported in Plaid but once we click on our account is says success but does not actually link to our profile. They are making every excuse as to why it won't work. Does AppClose not have a IT person??? Do they not trouble shoot anything??? We have had no help at all!!! They advertise this is the best app and that they have so many court systems who court order their app to be used. We are one of those but at what point do you help and work with these court orders before they end up in court over them not following what they are advertising!! Fed up with the lack of care by AppClose!

I’m required to use this app by family court and I HATE IT. Its glitchy, unintuitive, and only APP based which I hate. I hate apps and I would so prefer a web based option. Also it doesn’t really do anything you can’t do more easily somewhere else. It’s basically just a tool for family courts to more easily monitor communication between parents.
