It was really really an amazing game. One game which could made me procrastinate about my work just so to play a little bit more of the game. 

However, one major problem is the side bars. Both left and right. If you accidentally happen to click the red button on top depending on either side, you cannot bring it back up!

This classic game is still amazing to play years on, especially if you like your RPGs with a solid storyline, but the problem is the iPad version is buggy as hell. Crashes intermittently especially when you're reloading a game. Completed wyvern quest but game recognises it as the Bassilus quest instead. Fix the bugs!

Baldur's Gate is an old game and it shows. From the clunky interface awkwardly adapted to suit touchscreens to the aged graphics that translate inelegantly to the iPad's screen, it is definitely not an easy game for the contemporary gamer to appreciate. It is neither accessible nor does it provide instant gratification that is so sought after in mobile games, and this should be kept in mind for anyone thinking about purchasing the iPad version of the game.

The fact that the official website provides two manuals for the game, each of which cannot be considered light reading and are over seventy pages long, should serve as a warning for gamers hoping to find an accessible game. Despite the presence of an in-game tutorial, new players will find themselves referencing the aforementioned manuals many times and dying repeatedly in the process.

Nevertheless, spend a few hours with it and with a little tenacity it will slowly show why it is regarded as one of the finest Western RPGs. The depth of the gameplay, while not unprecedented, will provide many hours of tinkering. And the story, alongside the writing, reveals a time when developers took effort to craft a story worth telling. This is a punishing and brutal game. But gamers who are willing to invest the effort will find themselves deeply rewarded.

There are not many RPGs that could claim "legendary" status. Final Fantasy 7, Diablo 1 & 2, just to name a few. Baldur's Gate ranks in the top echelons of solid RPG storytelling and gameplay and every generation should experience it once in their lifetime. Porting the PC version over to the iPad, the gameplay feels similar to the same ol' classic, except for a few glitches/shortfalls which prevented me from giving it full marks. 1. Selection of chests, enemies, doors, entry/exit are at most times nerve wrecking and non responsive. Hopefully an update improves the selection sensitivity. 2. Spells and icons in the interface should have a brief description of its name and what it does when selected, so users unfamiliar to the D&D world can understand what they are and what they do. 3. The screen should move according to the character's position, so we don't have to keep scrolling the screen manually.
