Barefoot World Atlas

The app is great. There are a few explorers but I was hoping for more…Could you kindly add the following? First I’d like you to add the big explorers eg. James Cook, Christopher Columbus Amelia Earhart etc. if you could do this this would make it an invaluable tool for schools. These key explorers are missing Next, could you add a filter so it’s then possible to find the explorers easily. Finally since we now need to think about diversity could you add some additional explorers eg. First wheelchair user to..and also important female explorers. These are important as they did not explore for greed or territory or religion, they did it to share universal human values so o think you should also honour them on the app If you could add these features in the next two weeks I’d be so grateful as my fourth grade class are doing an explorers unit! Thanks!

I was really desperate for this app but after paying why is there no audio???

So Ok this is for age 4+, but my geography recall and knowledge of flags is so basic that the level was about right! I have used it so far to embed knowledge of relative positions of countries in Europe plus their flags, and now working around the globe. The information per country is just ridiculously limited. Basically one fact and a few stats. So don’t expect your children to learn much about each location. I downloaded Brittanica for that purpose (and there is always Google / Google Maps of course. Also, I would like to listen to my own music while browsing, but this app takes charge of the sound when it launches. Yes, I have switched off the music using settings / atlas. But there is no option to switch off the sound effects, which are annoying so have to turn the sound down when using it. It’s quite fun to use even for adults and I am sure that children must love it.

This is a great idea and beautifully made, exactly what kids should be able to use to explore. My only issue is the lack of information outside of a lot of obvious facts, especially in Asia, particularly Japan, the information is extremely limited. Perhaps there could be an Asia view that allows you to see more details, facts and cultural aspects of Japan and other places? Overall brilliant app though. :)

The whole family loves spinning the globe, discovering animated features and exploring countries and regions. My 11-year-old is particularly enjoying the puzzles. I highly recommend it for both fun and for learning!

Great app but no settings menu to turn off the music

This app is fabulous. The update 21 hours ago is a real success however I am disappointed by the World of Football being taken off. I thought it was a good touch and it would keep the teenage generation. This app is years old but it’s still incredible. It gives a virtual 3D tour with illustrations of animals, buildings, cars and art. Each equipped with a real photo and facts. The pictures need to be updated to stay up to date. To stay relevant which I will always think they are, they should set up a page where people upload a photo or two and they choose the first two pictures to be uploaded on to the app. It would be great to hear back. It won't let me update just keeps going back saying update I have done over wifi on my ipad

This is a good way to pique children's curiosity about the world. However, although most of the world measures temperature in Celsius, this app offer only Fahrenheit. Might seem minor but it annoys me nevertheless!

Colourful, interesting and informative. Really enjoyable 3D tour and sound effects. Good alternative way to find out about the countries of the world - especially for children who are stimulated to learn through technology. Great to use in school, at home or on the move :)
