Developer Statement:
When I bought my first fingerboard, I was annoyed from the fact that there was no reasonable description for the workout or how to use the board, so I created the Boulder Trainer app, which supports the workout and motivates. Please note that Boulder Trainer is a small private project, which I started by my own and I'm trying to keeping it alive and professional which is not always as easy as it appears.

1. While I can select my hang board on the app the preprogrammed exercises don’t relate to it (exercise instructs more holds than board has).  2. Awkward to navigate. Selecting a work out is not intuitive. 3. Doesn’t give an indication of overall exercise duration. 4. Unable to check where you’re at in the exercise without jumping forwards.

This app is super unstable. I can't even provide feedback through the app so i'm doing it here. Searching for shared workouts provides empty lists, constant connection timeouts on perfectly good wifi. The navigation buttons take you to nonsensical views. For £2.99 you'd expect a working app at least. I know free apps (albeit with adverts) that crush this paid app. Really disappointed.

Great app. Allows you to create programmes and then manage them online as well as download programmes from the community.

I've been using the for about 3 years and it works really well. I would like to see more features in the app and some of the UI could be improved. Also I would like to be able to keep music playing and have the countdown speak over the music and for the app to keep a climbing log of your activity.

Overall, best app I've found for hangboarding.

I got this with my first fingerboard, unfortunately it doesn't have my one as a possible make, as it is an Small firm called GripMonkeys (which do great affordable finger boards in the UK btw). You can upload your own pictures and map the fingerboard but I found that abit tricky. Training programmes are good aswell

The companion site makes it easy to edit and download custom plans, and while some functionality in the app is a little confusing, you won't find anything better for hang board training.

This is the best training app there is. It's fully customisable to fit your training needs. You can store your own routine or use one of the installed ones. It caters for most of the current hangboards out there too. It even reminds you to train! Five stars from me, can't wait for the addition of off board training (push ups etc)

So the hangs and countdown are ok, but as there is no timer between each exercise you still need to use a watch or countdown timer on your device making the app pointless. Better off with a piece of paper and the timer on your phone / pad. Build in the timer and this would be great, until then...

Could do with more content for other boards. Mostly geared towards metolious. Also needs a little polish, little things like an icon to unlock the demo (in the paid version??)  the FAQ is lifted straight from the metolious site, & in the hang board manager, it would be better to acknowledge your 'other hang board' going back a screen there's nothing to show your choice.   This app has potential with more work, I also have the beastmaker app which is great, so an app that can be used in any gym that has any board could be amazing.
