Black+White Photography magazine is the champion of the black & white image. The magazine features stunning contemporary images from some of the finest names in monochrome photography and covers a range of genres including documentary, portraiture, still life, landscape and street. Each issue includes in-depth techniques, product news and reviews, plus readers are given the chance to have their work published by submitting their images via the B+W website. Black+White Photography is considered essential reading for anyone interested or working in the creative area of monochrome imagery.

Paid for app downloads include one issue of the user’s choice. Free app downloads do not include a free issue unless otherwise stated. Within the app users can also purchase the current issue and back issues.
Subscriptions are also available within the application. A subscription will start from the latest regular issue at the time of purchase.
-The subscription will renew automatically unless cancelled more than 24 hours before the end of the current period. You will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, for the same duration and at the current subscription rate for the product.
-You may turn off the auto-renewal of subscriptions through your Account Settings, however you are not able to cancel the current subscription during its active period.
-Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase and any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when a subscription to that publication is purchased.
-If a subscription offers a free trial, at the end of the trial period, you will be charged the full price of the subscription. You may cancel a subscription during its free trial period via the subscription settings on your iTunes account. This must be done 24 hours before the end of the subscription period to avoid being charged.
Users can register for/ login to a pocketmags account in-app. This will protect their issues in the case of a lost device and allow browsing of purchases on multiple platforms. Existing pocketmags users can retrieve their purchases by logging into their account.
We recommend loading the app for the first time in a wi-fi area so that all issue data is retrieved.
If your app will not load past the splash page after a first install or an update, please delete and reinstall the app from the App Store

Only B&W magazine to consider!
I’ve been subscribing to Black+White magazine since the first issue; from paper to soft-copy. Indeed, I have seen several changes over the years, from editors to overall format - but one thing stays constant: high quality features and consistency of its content. B+W has stayed away from endless ‘top heavy’ reviews on gear, but only that’s essential. Over the years, through this magazine, I have learnt a lot from featured photographers and regular articles that challenged readers ‘look and see’ the ordinary through a ‘black & white’ photograph’s eye - extremely valuable to me as an accomplished colour worker but now serious about ‘black & white’ image making. Thank you, Black+White!
Creative lift in difficult times
Always a date to look forward to is the release date of B&W monthly . The bemused ramblings of the editor and contributor Tim Clinch & Lee Frost is a real spirit lifter and inevitably brings a smile to my face , with much reduced adverts as other mags but with more creative content too boot . It’s a winner ! Just one criticism ☝🏻, when the date of release is given , stick to it ! ( we do understand the current situation though 😉) but just put a later realistic date 👍🏻

I look forward to every issue. I always learn something new and find inspiration to take with me when photographing.

Complete waste of money crashes and can’t open

Good magazine on a terrible app. I’ve used the app on a iPad mini and now on a brand new iPad Pro. Crashes on both if you can get it to open.

As good as the print version
Unlike most digital mags this as clear images and easy to read. No crash or freeze on this mag. 5*

This magazine is really great. Content is always interesting. App is designed well as well.
Great mag
Love both the magazine and the iPad experience. Too many photography magazines from the Newsstand's selection feel either amatorish or plain ugly, this one manages to combine great and varied content with inspiring images and a good iPad experience. Recommended!
