I signed up for the premium membership and have used for a few months. Yes the route modes are great and the main draw to the app, but key things are missing. Frustrating is how I would term this app. No live traffic data is really annoying, constantly just having to make up your own re-route when all you want is the app to know where the incidents and roadworks are. They are introducing user logged traffic & incidents but that’s useless, who would stop and add one? Also, the app is temperamental. Recently, the traffic camera alerts have gone even when I have that switched on as an option, that was one of the apps best features but doesn’t seem to work any more. Route planning is unnecessarily complicated. Plus other little niggles too, too many to mention. I began to try to like to this app but sadly it just falls too short to be the app I need. I jumped from Beeline to this as I found Beeline too simple, Calimoto could be so much better with a few improvements. I shan’t be renewing my subscription and the hunt carries on for the app that is best suited to what I need.

Sinimiar issues as with other reviews and why don't they have a monthly subscription. The weekly one is extortionately expensive and I feel it aims to force the full purchase price. If you don't travel enough to pay for a year but also not enough to make a weekly charge like that for one journey it's too much. Especially as it isn't always issue free.

Would be much better if you had more control over the routing. It really depends on what roads you have on your journey but if there’s nothing of interest in the immediate vicinity, i’d rather it stick me on a motorway to get to the good roads quicker. Instead it will find twisty/winding roads that are 20/30mph, or take tiny bumpy/gravelly/muddy lanes, making it take twice as long to get to the better roads. Why not have the ability to limit the amount of <30mph roads, or ‘fastest route to best rated roads’. Cali is used as a last resort when out and about for me but it’s certainly not able to replace a bit of research and intelligent route planning. So for the price I’m probably not going to bother buying again

I’m currently in the 14 day trial, set up a 100 mile route for last weekend. Rode the first 20 miles not running the app as we were meeting friends and I knew the route. Once we met up, I then proceeded to open the app and follow the route, the app then tried to direct me to the start location again, pointless! Why can’t you say, start from current location or not navigate to start. Ended up following a more direct route.

Nothing special. Quite poor by comparison to Waze or scenic.

Since I’ve had that app it’s been great. Easy to use and plan a ride. Only issue is it always tries to take me down single track tiny lanes whenever I plan a route that’s not the fastest. No matter if I put twisty or winding it always finds the smallest lanes it can which is pointless on a bike. I spent half my time avoiding gravel and the rest doing 10mph in case a tractor comes round the bend and kills me.

I downloaded for free put my route in. Set off the next day and the arrow wouldn’t move with me. I stopped to investigate and they wanted £50 a year for premium? I don’t need premium for the amount of rides we do. I’ve now un installed it!!!! Tom Tom go ride was great but now discontinued??? I’ve now purchased a used TOM TOM rider with free maps and updates!

I was using it ok until the new update, for some reason it crashes every time I try to make a round trip Edit, I still cant make round trips

This app has literally transformed all my bike trips. I now find myself on beautiful deserted roads on every trip, here in the UK and many trips abroad. A total joy. Saves you planning a route using smaller roads which is time consuming, this does it all for you, just input your destination and off you go. It’s a winner every time. Customer service is great too. Bravo Calimoto 👏👏👏

Ui is possibly one of the worst I have come across. The voice guidance is intrusive and the layout presents itself in an unclear manner . Tried it on one ride and couldn’t get on with it. Will be sticking with Waze that is free, more accurate and has a music sync option…
