CARQUEST VIN Decoder

Sounds like a great idea but not for the public? Anyone know of a app that will work for anyone?

Just have to walk around the lot to all the cars coming in each day, scan them and push upload. Haven’t run into any glitches yet. Very fast and accurate. Just wish I could have my ordering account through an app too.

Can login in needs password?!?

This app my work great, but like 99% of the others that have posted negative reviews, I found out AFTER downloading that the app is for COMMERCIAL customers of Carquest. If this is the case the developer should have either made this a paid app with a program to rebate the purchase price for commercial accounts that do regular & ongoing monthly purchases, or at the VERY LEAST stated this fact in a disclaimer AT THE TOP of the description, NOT AT THE BOTTOM. And for wise guys like "Monkey Wrangler", all I have to say is why don't you check with Carquest corporate, or Autozone, Oreilly's, or ANY OTHER parts store and ask them what percentage of their quarterly profits are generated from commercial accounts, VS "walk in customers". I think you will find that NONE of these stores would be in business to offer commercial customer competitive options for parts with room for markup WITHOUT the walk in customers that support these businesses and makeup over 70% of their revenue, AS WELL AS YOURS! Posting a review with such bad attitude, with little about the app & as a forum to criticize others like you did, with the review title being "For professionals, I.E. Not For You!? Really?? This makes me question what you consider yourself a professional at? Being a jerk? I'd agree with that, although I think you'll have trouble getting anyone to pay you for that with so many like you offering their "jerk wisdom" all over the web for free. Remember what I've told many others that when questioned about their expertise and instantly start spewing about how they have been doing whatever it is they do for decades and blah blah blah, just because you've done something for a very long time and consider yourself a "professional", doesn't mean your any good at it. In my experience I've found that it usually means they've just done it poorly for a long time. Most experienced mechanics, specialize in certain makes and most can tell you off the top of their head which VIN positions are for which engine, transmission, or paint code. I've never once seen a mechanic in a shop scanning a VIN with their iPhone. Anyway, to the developer; you could do a better job of making it clear who your marketing to, and to all the shop owners like monkey man, chill out and remember where your paycheck comes from

So many rated this app poorly because they didn't read about it. It is a tool for professional garages/techs... That means walk in customers, like yourselves, can't use it. App works fine but apparently only if you have reading comprehension above a 3rd grader! :)

Would have been nice to know before I wasted time loading this app which for me is worthless. Found out at the bottom of the description. Why not put it at the top? I'll never buy anything from CarQuest now.

Opened once and then deleted. Asks for a username and password with no indication of anything else. Avoid and look for a vin app that doesn't need a log in!

Don't know anything about the app because it locked me into username & password with no way to register! Ok I went to the Carquest site, registered and it still won't let me in. This is stupid!

That makes no sense I'll start up, it didn't even say why it required a password... Looks like it was designed at a high school
