I bought one for my current car and I haven’t looked at the report in a long while you’d think considering the price you’d think that the report doesn’t expire but it does it is not worth the price

I tried to buy a report to make preliminary / advance checks before I meet with the car dealer. However, it forced me to make a account and then to check I bought 2 checks. 

Then it should let me check using the car license plates, but it refuses to provide a report without the car (vin number) which I can only get if I am physically next to the car or in contact with the dealer which completely fails/Defeats purpose of this service of doing advance checks. 

A COMPLETE misleading information on the service provided and a COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. 

Already found alternative service that does the same without all this MESS and far cheaper!!!!!!

Recommendation: STAY FAR WAY FROM “CAR VERTICAL” or this App.

A huge faff to get logged in. In the app you can’t save a report pdf to Files, you have to use a web browser for that. I’ve owned my car from new, 5 years old now, and at 2 weeks old it got accident damaged requiring a claim on the other party’s insurance and a month in the workshop. Nothing shown in Car Vertical. Everything else shown is available for free from gov.uk, like mileage and MOT history. No value added by Car Vertical. Feels like a rip off to be honest.

 Not a very good start for a company claiming to know full history of a car, when don’t even know the correct term for the vehicle identification number.

Does this work? The short answer is yes, however server response is slooowww and it looks like you get billed and nothing happens for an unreasonable length of time.
The next time you login, your credits maybe visible, even though the transaction is complete.
Biggest gripe here is that it then asks for you to do another purchase and doesn't recognise the credits. They do eventually turn up and then the search is smooth and informative.
This is poor app design and it should inform the user that credits are pending verification and please wait.
Unfortunately, this is also reflected in the web app,  so overall could have a better customer interface.
App also asks whether you want to save 20% - think this might be a multi-buy option, but this is not clear and you do seem to have a discount applied. Additionally I was notified I had a further 10% applied to account by email, but again not sure that it was and no code was given...

So you get the app, you try to sign up, redirected to website, sign up. Discount etc, discount email takes you to website, but the reports at the discounted rate, only works with vin number not registration number on the website has absolutely no link to the app, no code to put into the app for the reports you purchased via the website. No settings to do anything about it. Contact by email only. Just rubbish

Don’t use it to find out cause of crash on CAT cars. It won’t tell you. This is not for CAT cars it’s for auction cars cos it doesn’t give you any information about the damage. I bought 3 reports for 3 cars and they were all cat. It didn’t give me any extra info than autotrader free report

It’s over priced can get same report for £9.99 on a different app which did find the car I was looking for.
