## Citi Bike Description
The official app for Citi Bike, NYC’s bike share system.

Citi Bike consists of a fleet of specially designed, sturdy and durable bikes that are locked into a network of docking stations throughout the city. Our bikes can be unlocked from one station and returned to any other station in the system, making them ideal for one-way trips. Bike share is a greener, healthier way to get around — whether you’re commuting, running errands, meeting friends, or exploring in a new city.
The Citi Bike app gives you access to thousands of bikes in your area — unlock and pay directly from the app and get going.

The Citi Bike app also shows upcoming public transit departures, including MTA subway trains, shuttles, local, limited, & express buses, LIRR commuter rail trains, Metro-North commuter rail trains, PATH rapid transit trains, Bee-Line local & express buses, NYC Ferries, the Staten Island Ferry, the AirTrain JFK, the AirTrain Newark, the Roosevelt Island Tramway, and NJT commuter rail trains, light rail trains, & buses.

This app periodically crashes and does not work when I need it to. It’s super inconvenient to redownload when going to get a bike. Also, please keep the bikes in pristine condition.

I took nearly 7k rides with them over the years - and used to be a raving fan - and have found that CitiBike is just not competitive with public transportation anymore. $5 plus $.30/minute for an e-bike? You’re out of your mind. I’ll hop on the subway for $3, and get some reading done along the way. I understand that stolen bikes are probably the cause of the price increases but I refuse to be punished for the recklessness of others.

This is New York, the ground rules are you pay the highest possible price for the most limited service. The regular bikes are mostly sub-par, low inflated tires, brakes broken, gears dying. 
The e-bikes are overpriced full stop.
The customer service is non existent and the terms you sign up for are extremely punitive.  Beware of those terms, they will apply to you if anything at all goes wrong, it’s 100% on you.

I’ve aced the day pass for $20 using Viste via cash app payment method. They didn’t support it, but the money went through regardless. I’ve called support. They told me the payment method. I changed it to Vista via Chase bank & try the electric bike pass $39 payment goes through not letting me claim a bike “Unfortunately we weren't able to authorize your payment method. Try a different card or add a new one”. I try with Apple Pay it does the same thing. called customer support three times they all said the same thing.

I had a bad experience & rate this app 1 Star.

No las recomiendo para nada a menos que la vallas a usar exclusivamente en central park de resto usarla en New York es extremadamente peligroso y complicado. De resto encontrar una estación con disponibilidad es una verdadera misión para el que tiene tiempo y dinero para darse el lujo de votar 30$ a la basura solo buscando donde dejar la condenada bicicleta por que asta que no la pongas en una estación de carga no dejará de cobrarte. En los pocos lugares donde encontrarás estaciones de carga ahí poca disponibilidad y si la usaste para llegar más rápido a algún lugar te aconsejo caminar saldrá más rápido pues en buscar una estación terminarás desviándote más terminé pagando 30$ y de igual forma tuve que dejarla en la primera estación que pude y caminar 25 minutos a mi destino por que solo me alejo más salía mejor usar el tren enserio no usen esto es pésimo

Bike angels is a terrible program because it caused a huge inefficiency where cop stations are full, and you cannot return a bike at the biggest and most popular stations in New York City during the busiest times of day. We’ve taken up the matter with the city government of New York City.  Lyft executive should get on a plane and fly to New York City from San Francisco to see the problem. This is a horrible issue for members who can not return their bikes for short trips.

Relying on a bank to provide a truly beneficial service to its users has given us Citibike. Expensive upfront fees and membership and then you’re on your own! Can’t rely on it as efficient transportation. I don’t count the number of times I took a bike out due a 10mn ride and ended up looking for parking for the next 30mn. More than once I had to go back to the spot where I took the bike out to park it! Make sure you don’t have an appointment to go to. Citibike will get you there later than late!

Affordable is a joke! 

Rode 4 miles and 8 miles after purchasing a “DAY PASS” !?! the next day I reviewed the cost of my 2 rides. I was charged overages because first rack was malfunctioning and would not lock bike… 2nd rack said there was a spot available but was full while still showing open spot. By the time I got to the third rack I was 1 mile from my intended destination. THIS HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE COST ME $64.00. I WILL NEVER USE THIS AGAIN AND WOULD CAUTION EVERYONE WHEN ATTEMPTING THIS MODE OF TRANSPORTATION

Quality has collapsed in the last year or so. In entire neighborhoods all the docks are constantly malfunctioning for months. They don’t seem to refurbish the bikes so at this point most of them are badly rusted. Most of the bikes one tries to take out will just make noises for 2 min before a red light turning on saying it’s unavailable. Between the hassle of finding a functional station with a functional bike, then finding an online station with a functional dock (half the docks will reject you when you try to dock a bike), it’s probably faster to walk 50 blocks than to try and citibike that distance. Cannot disrecommend enough.

Renting bikes comes with many software issues; most notably buying a day pass is not possible for more than 1 rider.  When you’ve bought the day pass, you then unable to use it while others in your group have yet to dock.  There was also an issue where I scanned a classic bike when it claimed I needed to take an electric for my day pass (fake news) at a station where there was only 1 electric bike available and that bike was taken by the other person in my group.  It then allowed me to get a classic without any notification despite the UI thinking I already had a bike that needed docked.  I have never seen such a useless app.
