## Daikin SKYFi Description
Control your Daikin Ducted Air Conditioner from your iOS device. This app, in conjunction with Daikin’s BRP15A61 Wi-Fi Interface (SKYFi) will provide the majority of functions already available via the Daikin wall mounted remote control panel. Standard functions such as On/Off, temperature, fan speed and mode of operation are easily set or monitored via the App.
Additional functions such as easy set timers, configuration settings, Dealer contact details and maintenance functions are also provided. If a Daikin Zone Controller is fitted to the air conditioner, the naming and remote control of zone dampers is also supported. Depending on the model of air conditioner, indoor and outdoor temperature is also displayed.
If you do not have a home or local Wi-Fi network available, the SKYFi interface will act as a Wi-Fi Access Point and support a single Wi-Fi connection from your iOS device (provided the iOS device is within range).
If you do have a home or local Wi-Fi network available, the SKYFi interface can be easily configured from the App to join your home or local Wi-Fi network by entering the Wi-Fi network ID and password. In this configuration, multiple iOS devices can access the air conditioner while retaining their Wi-Fi access to other devices on the network.
If the home or local Wi-Fi network has permanent connection to the Internet, it is possible to control the air conditioner from anywhere in the world where Internet access is available to your iOS device. There is no Daikin subscription cost for this service, however local network access charges may apply.
This application requires a compatible Daikin Air Conditioner fitted with Daikin Wi-Fi Remote Control Interface BRP15A61. The zone control functionality also requires the Daikin Air Conditioner to be fitted with a Daikin Zone Controller (model BRC24Z4, BRC24Z8, BRC230Z4 or BRC230Z8) along with associated zone control dampers.
The interface and App also supports Daikin light commercial (Sky Air) split systems such as under-ceiling and cassette models. If the indoor unit has a swing louver function, the App will recognise this and provide an additional air flow direction button and indication symbol.  
Compatible Daikin Air Conditioners are most ducted split systems and light commercial systems less than 10 years old.

For the love of god with all the units Daikin sells you would think they would have an app that would work? No all the apps are by third party creators because they failed miserably to create an app to be able to use effectively for their ridiculously over priced air con units. At least 9 out of 10 connection tries come back with an error message. When it finally does connect, it is very slow and does not offer the full functionality of the physical panel.
Bugs have not been fixed in the last 5 years.

Daikin has copious feedback as shown in other reviews. They are accurate as this app and control method are unreliable and inconsistent. Even reconnecting each time is hit and miss. 

Daikin ignores this feedback. At its financial peril as I’d suggest shop elsewhere if this aspect was important to you which in the IOT age, it is increasingly becoming. 

They now sell another device however still were selling this and not updating it. Penny wise, pound foolish.

1 star because it does actually work, if a bit unreliable at times. However, this app and the controller needs to get with the times. Should support home automation with any and all of google home, Alexa and apple home as well. Needs a graphic designer to make it look better and needs far more advanced configuration settings.

Sometimes takes better part of a minute to connect. Takes seconds for options to be applied and they sometimes revert. Timed on/off sometimes doesn’t work. Save time and just stand up and walk to the panel.
On the positive it is convenient to enable aircon before you arrive home via internet... when it works.

Company fails to listen to clients needs. App is so out of date it’s not funny!! Get your act together Daikin people pay money to have wifi controllers on their unit for a reason so do your part and keep your app up to date. App only connects when it feels like it.  Timer function says it’s on but only works sporadically, which is very annoying and costs money.   This app is great idea but a complete waste of time!!  Surprising that a company that advertises themselves as the best in their field can’t deliver an app that works!!  Come on Daikin sort it out.
