A masterclass in how to alienate your spending players
As someone who has spent far too much money on this game, i strongly do not recommend it. Unfortunately, the latest update after winning GOTY feels less like a “balance patch” and more like a corporate cash grab disguised as innovation. The Halloween event costs a ridiculous amount to even acquire or max out a champion in such a limited time with little information given that it has alienated a lot of the player base. By locking Death Metal Wonder Woman behind such a paywall, you’ve succeeded in alienating your player base and failed miserably when it comes to player retention. So many people have quit the game because of this greedy and poorly planned out event. Even whales need F2P and light spenders or there would be no one to play with! The event was a complete disaster, the delays, bugs, crashes, extended maintenance and terrible updates with little information given or very last minute. Imagine charging this much and still forgetting to communicate basic mechanics. Why weren’t we informed that Donna Troy would be returning and isn’t limited like DMWW? Nyra is utterly incompetent when it comes to giving information, what is the point of VIP service when all she does is spread misinformation and give incorrect advice? Whoever decided that reassigning every champion manually was “fun gameplay” clearly hasn’t tried managing 40+ of them. No one has the time to micromanage all of their champions! This update messing around with the champions and room status was totally uncalled for! Why mess with a system that was already working just fine? If the developers think this is sustainable, they’re clearly mistaking tolerance with engagement. Listen to your player base before your whales beach themselves somewhere else.
