Always know your glucose number and where it’s heading with the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems –indicated for diabetes treatment decisions with zero fingersticks and no calibration.* Before you start making treatment decisions with your G6 or G6 Pro, work with your healthcare provider to learn how. *Fingersticks required for diabetes management decisions if symptoms do not match readings. Always know your glucose number with just a quick glance at your compatible smartphone or smartwatch. For a list of compatible devices visit www.dexcom.com/compatibility. Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro provide real-time glucose readings for patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes every five minutes. Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro are indicated for children, age 2 years and older. The Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro Systems provide personalized trend alerts on your smart device and let you see when your glucose levels are going too low, or too high, so you can better manage your diabetes. The Alert Schedule** feature lets you schedule and customize a second set of alerts. Custom alert sounds are available, including a Vibrate-Only option on the phone for glucose alerts. The only exception is the Urgent Low Alarm, which you can’t turn off. The Always Sound** setting, which is on by default, allows you to receive certain Dexcom CGM Alerts even if your phone sound is off, set to vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This allows you to silence calls or texts but still receive audible CGM Alarm and Alerts, including the Urgent Low Alarm, Low and High Glucose alerts, Urgent Low Soon Alert**, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts**. A Home screen icon shows you if your Alerts will sound or not. For safety, the Urgent Low Alarm and three alerts can’t be silenced: Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped. Other features: • Share** your glucose data with up to ten followers in real time. For instance when I’m doing ballet, I was wearing the Apple Watch that is compared with my phone, it lost connection. And when I’m sleeping and my dexcom isn’t against the bed, guess what, it loses connection, even during quiz bowl, it gives me a random lost connection alarm even if I’m right next to it wth dexcom. Figure out the g6 before you go into the g7. The issues: Being woken up at 2am with a low alert and it’s a false reading; CGM reading, both highs and lows, well outside the 20% margin; when attempting to calibrate CGM to meter reading, does not take input; Sensor generally does not last the advertised 10 days, starts to malfunction and give errors around Day 7/8. -- Vare45, 2024-12-16 ### *---- "Loses sensor signal at to much" I use Dexcom so I don’t have to stab my fingers and my pump can work properly but more often than not the app says signal loss wait 30 minutes every single session.The crazy thing is that my pump usually still has signal and none of my other Bluetooth connections ever drop so it’s apparently just the app. Also customer service is so hit or miss (lately way more misses than hits) when you try to call them because you have hours without signal on the app. The issues have gotten worse since they started really pushing the g7 (which again when you call they push like a sales push at you) but of course my insurance doesn’t cover that yet. When I started the unit it informed me that the transmitter was about to expire. I only started the transmitter 11 days ago, it is supposed to last 3 months. There is not notification informing anyone that it is activated when you buy it, not when you start using it. Now I have a new sensor I just put in and the transmitter is not working. And to change the transmitter I have to stop my new sensor and cannot use it again although it’s only 4 hours old. At 179.00 USD per box, do not waits your money. They are awesome at sending new sensors when they malfunction when you insert them. Data there is often 10 - 30 minutes behind what’s in the app. Sometimes it doesn’t refresh until you open the app. Add widget size options. Default is too small. -- TWH00, 2024-12-02 ### ****- "Critical alerts are ridiculous" Although i love having a Dexcom and being able to follow trends has been a game changer, i cannot stand the critical alerts. Most of us have gone much of our lives without the incessant, obnoxious beeping during a low blood sugar and i just don’t understand why it isn’t an optional feature… If someone tends to get low without being aware, they should turn it on but many of us are very aware of when we have a low! I have been a type one since 1994 and went on the Dexcom 5 years ago and this is the one thing that truly makes me consider just going back to manually checking my blood sugar. I am a massage therapist and i get low while working often, and no client wants to hear this awful alarm while they are trying to relax. Before i had the Dexcom i could easily just drink some Gatorade without anyone knowing i have low blood sugar but this alarm can literally be heard throughout each room in the spa i work at. I literally end up keeping my blood sugar around 200 for each work shift to keep from having to deal with these alerts!!! Please make the critical alerts optional! Diabetes is annoying enough and this is completely unnecessary for so many of us! -- Linzeyalaina, 2024-11-24 ### ***** "DexCom G6" I used the G6 for years. I was given an opportunity to use a tubed pump and sensor device. After trying it, I requested to go back to DexCom and by then the OmniPod 5 was available. I am very, very, happy with my G6 and OmniPod setup. In 2025 I will be switched to the DexCom g7, I look forward to switching to the newer system. -- kelvinallen, 2024-11-20 ### ****- "Insulin" I would like to know why I cannot give myself insulin with this app. I have left the Omnipod phone at home and was not able to give myself insulin except by injection. This would be awesome if you can make this happen. The other point that I would like to make is that I wish you had more options for when sugars are not good. Like injury, changes in medication, missing sensor, or manual glucose reading. Besides these I really like this app at least I can check my sugar real quick.
