They have no care whatsoever for the customers! Support was awful to reach and then they would just try to scam you more. This is the most insecure transportation company. I would avoid any association with this company if I were you as they will just be rude, unavailable, and charge you an outrageous amount. -- gabriel0813b, 2024-12-17 ### ***-- "Stupid that you can’t pay monthly" They tell you membership is 11$ a month, then make you pay for the entire year all at once which ends up being about $140. Ridiculous and skeevy tbh. -- Jowiestava, 2024-11-29 ### **--- "Fun bikes, MISLEADING APP" In Chicago for three days during decent weather, so these bikes are a great option. The bikes are super fun to ride. I have run into multiple problems in the first 24 hours with this app misleading me into purchasing either an annual pass or a day pass that does not actually cover the bike rides. The annual pass button popped up at my first ride in a place that appeared to be me agreeing to begin a ride. The app developers have created a deceptively and problematically frictionless purchase process; They are fronting more expensive upgrade products with without fully disclosing what you were buying or ensuring that that is what you really want. I had the same experience with a day pass the next morning. I understood that I was buying a day pass at least that would cover all my bike rides for the day, which was perfect since I am only in town for few days. The problem is the app does not clearly delineate between what are called “classic bikes,” and “E bikes” the latter of which are still charged in addition to the day pass. Although the physical product of writing, what turns out to be the Bike is actually really positive, this is a major issue of buyer beware and predatory app design. I had no trouble finding bikes they were charged and worked. Sometimes finding a dock was really annoying and you still get charged if you bring it to a docking station and park it there if the docks are full. -- Aghdduchjdnbwjj, 2024-10-12 ### *---- "Scum with day pass" They summed you with a day pass! I used this app for the first time, and when you try to unlock e-bike they suggest you day pass, so it will be cost 18 buck for 24hours, but they doesn’t tell you that it is for classic bikes only!! So you pay for the useless day pass and plus 0.44$/minute! Without day pas price is the same!! It looks like SCUM The app should notify you, that day pass doesn’t applicable for e-bikes! Your company is trash and so they app. -- Jflake10, 2024-10-05 ### *---- "The day pass is a scam, scooters are not covered, poor customer support" First time Divvy user, bought the $19 day pass in Chicago. Used their scooters for 5 rides over a 3 hour duration, got charged $62 extra that I assumed the day pass would cover / would get waived off at the end of the day as ‘savings on account of using the day pass’, similar to various other apps that Lyft has collaborations with in Paris, SFO, etc. Did not happen. Called their customer support to learn that scooters are not covered. ‘Victor’ from customer support kept going round in circles, refused to take feedback to pass on to their product team on how to avoid similar confusion by simple alerts/disclaimers on the app, receipt emails. Having used Citibike in NY, I’m fully aware of the the inclusions and exclusions. While Divvy’s day pass sign up indicates that e-bikes incur an additional cost (similar to Citibike), there is nothing that warns you that scooters are not included. How hard is it to add that to the communication? Secondly, when you search for a ride, the app shows you the bike and scooters available. If you unlocked a scooter, they could simply alert you, at least the fist time if not at all times, that the scooter is not included in the day pass. Thirdly, I parked the scooters back next to Divvy bike stations and I see they charged me a $2.40 fee for ‘out of station parking fee’ for each of the 5 rides I took. I mean I parked it at the bike stations, how is that out of station? LOL In this day and age of customer service and competition, companies routinely waive off charges the customer wasn’t aware of when it comes to first time users. Pretty short sighted of Divvy to not do that. That’s a lot repeat business to lose 😉 Wish I had read the App Store reviews prior and saved myself the hassle. It’s pretty incredible how many similar cases are mentioned in the App Store reviews and their product team hasn’t done anything to make simple enhancements to improve the user experience. -- Shilpa_App Store Reviews, 2024-10-04 ### ***-- "Do Not Use Divvy Bikes" I went to Chicago for a weekend getaway. Had about a 2 hour walk from the union station to our hotel so thought “why not try out Divvy and explore Chicago”. I chose a bike that I guess wasn’t working properly and my SO chose the only scooter at that divvy station. The scooter worked great, however, the bike seemed to be struggling with pedaling. We decided to go park them at the next divvy station after a mile that took me an hour to ride since the bike wasn’t functioning correctly. It wasn’t locking in so I contacted CS and it seemed to stop the timer(so I thought). Fast forward to the next day and my card was charged $110 for a broken bike that I rode for 1 mile and for only 1 hour. I tried contacting CS and they toyed me around saying ”you’ll receive an email 24-48 hours to help with your issue”. To no surprise, no email was sent to me. I then went and opened up another chat and was given the same bull$hit. I decided to not be so kind after that and threatened that I would not be referring them to anyone else, and that they will not be getting a 5 star rating from me. It was about 30 minutes later that I finally got an email regarding that a refund of $97 has been sent back to me. All in all, I did not have the best experience and almost thought I was just out the full $110 for a NOT great ride. They were about to get a one star rating from me but since I got my refund (after having to be not so nice), I decided to give them a 3 star considering my SO enjoyed himself on the scooter. Save yourself the hassle, don’t use divvy, or at least the divvy bikes! -- Aunt2BAMOI, 2024-10-01 ### *---- "Never buy a day pass" When you scan to unlock an e-bike, the app will prompt you to “save money” by buying a day pass for ~$17. But the day pass doesn’t work for e-bikes. Instead of making the ride free like it does for classic bikes, it just knocks a buck or two off your ride and otherwise charges you like normal. This isn’t clear when the app prompts you, so instead of saving money you just end up paying double. -- Pcmono, 2024-09-20 ### *---- "Unsafe and inconvenient" Divvy uses much more aggressive geofencing than competitors. Due to this my scooter cut off in the middle of a crowded Chicago street, and forced me to kick ride it out of traffic to a safe space. In the process I cut open my ankle on the scooter which is not designed for manual use, and had to walk home with a bleeding leg.
