Documents: File Manager & Docs

i bought the Scanner Pro and PDF Expert and the PDF editing features of Documents a long time ago, when we were still able to buy new features outright. They work excellent and are very useful tools. - These days it seems that new customers have to subscribe these and pay every month. I understand, maybe it works out better for the developers and it is reasonable because they are running a business. But just wondering, will there be new features that we can actually buy outright or it will only be subscription from now on? Thanks!

thanks to the customer service team for attending to all comments and requests over the years. Mostly there have been only minor issues over the last 10 years but they have all been quickly resolved. Nothing's been wrong recently - at least for the last five years, and it is a great joy and good fortune to use this valuable program for the iPad. Thanks again! ----- 😄😄

....but, now there are TOO MANY features. Sorry, i understand you trying to please everyone, but this used to be a simple app to use and now becoming far TOO clever - as it is with many apps. Most of these new features are useless and unnecessary. Why not just keep the app simple but robust, always upgradable but staying basic. Basically simple - or keep a basic version for those who don't need the fancy stuff? How about it? thanks! 😄🌷

Everytime tried to download a video from YouTube I keep getting hacker warnings please fix it

I’ve had this app for years and years, posted positive reviews and about it in the past. They’ve also all been 5 stars.. although, I’ve got to say after paying outright for it years ago to then paying the upsell monthly subscription (which I’ve now cancelled) for the ability to convert image to PDF — I’m just disappointed. Mainly because every other feature in the app works just as well as you’d want it to BUT when it comes to the one feature that sold me on the subscription — it ended up leaving me with a PDF downscaled to A4 size from an image that was high resolution art print quality. I paid this subscription for what was a once off use to find that it was wasted because it didn’t do what it said it could (without any fine print saying it would downsize).. When they patch this it’ll be back to 5 stars, even if the impact seems trivial. Just at least provide an explanation of what it will do.

I have been using the Readdle Suite for many years. But recently the connections to other devices via smb or ftp has not been working. Its absolutely fine with other file browsers such as FileBrowserGO. The support has been absolutely atrocious. So looks very much like I'll buy FileBrowserGO.

Although it’s a popular app capable of quite a few things relating to media & browsing, it’s still very overrated. There is no Amazon S3 cloud service options available despite many other (even free) apps providing that option & many other cloud storage service integrations too, which is significantly more than what this app offers. There is also no one-time/lifetime payment option. Nobody likes subscription services. There is no good reason to not offer at least the option of paying a one-time payment. Lastly, there isn’t even a media queue, like again, other apps even free ones offer within their integrated web browser and/or integrated media player. Overall this app isn’t even worth paying a monthly fee for let alone it lacks certain features & integrations.
