It's easy enough to create a doc and then email it to your self so you can open it and finish it properly on your PC or Mac. So it's good for starting things when you only have your tablet.
But, it is a pain for PDFs. There are some things that only have the option of opening in Docs not in iBooks - and when I want the docs on the iPad to carry i load into docs. But it won't let you email a pdf, so you can't transfer it elsewhere. Major disadvantage for me
