I’ve been using Downcast for years and it is by far the most flexible podcast app. The only thing keeping me from giving a full five stars is that it doesn’t show the 15 second advance rewind buttons on the Home Screen. It’s the only reason why I would consider a different app for podcasts. But moving to another app would be giving up a lot of what Downcast does so well.

I upgraded devices recently and decided to start fresh, including defaulting to Apple apps where possible. I spent about two minutes in Apple’s Podcasts app before running back to Downcast; the flexibility in Downcast is amazing and it was clearly written by someone who knows their users.

Don’t waste your time with any other podcast app.
