I had to download this app to be able to read my just-purchased Ebook on my iPad  but I can’t find a way to enlarge the tiny font. And it’s not turning pages, so I just have to scroll down but then it keeps jumping up so I have to have a finger on the screen to hold it in place. Never again will I buy an Ebook that needs to be read on this app!!

I purchased this app because it was the option given for a specific book I wanted to purchase. I wish I could’ve selected a different app. The bookmark is super annoying. It doesn’t stay on the page I’d bookmarked when I exit the app and so every time I go back to continue reading, I have to keep scrolling through all the pages trying to remember where I left off.

This app seems stuck in 2008. One could forgive the poor user interface but it is hard to suffer through its inability to keep track of the page you were reading when you lock your phone.

This app spoils my reading pleasure as it never save the page.
When you bookmark a page it shows it listed, however it only ever takes you back to page 1
I am using an ipad mini.

The app seems ok, but whenever I re-open a book or look at a footnote, it returns me to the beginning of a chapter (if I’m lucky).
Frequently losing my page like that is not an enjoyable way to read a book.
The situation is not good when I’m even able to say that “paper would be better”.
It unfortunate that buying books through this store locks me in to this reader. It pushes me to use other electronic book stores instead.

### *---- "Worst reader I’ve ever used"
As the ‘app shop’ app screens already shows: the visual design of the eBook reader seems to hark back to the 90s. And so does the usability interface. I used the reader on the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and on that screen the book I bought was hard to read, despite me trying to choose different fonts. I don’t have these problems with Apple Books or the Kindle. One annoying feature was that the words at the end of a line were simply cut. Not even into syllables but severed wherever the line ended. For example: “evocative” had an ‘e’ at the end of a text line and the ‘vocative’ at the beginning of the next line. That’s not what should expect when I buy an eBook. 

eBook.com doesn’t seem to want its customers to use their reader. It’s default option is using the browser to read. It also doesn’t offer downloads in common ebook formats that, for example would allow reading the book in Books or other ebook readers. Based on all of these experiences, the only book I bought from eBook.com is the last one. Despite having paid for it I re-bought it on Books (rather than Amazon) and trashed the reader.

This app doesn’t have a dictionary function and also had issues with skipping pages and losing the page I was up to after closing the reader - I asked for a refund and only received half back in return even though I requested it within the 7 days of purchase .... absolute pathetic customer service

You can change the font (with way too many options) but not the line spacing or the padding around the page, so you end up with a Great Wall of text. Lines break in the middle or words making it impossible to read without jerking between lines. Probably the worst ereader I’ve seen and wouldn’t use if the book I wanted was availability on any other platform.

Why have so many different fonts? Why so many different colours for backgrounds and typefaces? Always have trouble finding my books but getting used to it now. Seems a little complicated when it could be more simple, for example; most people just want to find a book easily, pay for it, and read it. Not all the rigmarole in downloading, choosing different options etc.

This works well with the demo books but the book I purchased doesn’t adapt to the app. The font doesn’t go big enough, the dark/light background doesn’t work, you scroll down a single page for a full chapter and have to keep your finger on the screen to keep your place. I doubt I’ll have the patience to finish the book I purchased.

This reader is quite poor and buggy.  It is very frustrating and I have stopped buying books from them.   It does not perform anywhere near as well as the rival bookseller apps. This one should be replaced with a more professional app.

I wanted to break free from the amazon Apple duopoly but this is not the answer. Barely readable text compacted too close together , awful menus makes the reading experience unpleasant. With italics the bottom of letters with tails (g, y, ...) are chopped.  I wish I’d tested first with a free book. 

Please invest in some modern UX and make this usable.

The app does not have a scroll feature. So you cannot continually read without having to “flip the page”. I like that you have a wide colour palette of font and background colours to choose from. You can also easily see all the text you’ve highlighted in a special tab.
