Overall a nice app but missing text to speech and other featues
This app is a nice app but it is missing features. What I like about the app is the design, UI, and interface. I like that this app resembles the native Apple Books app. In fact, I purchased this app to replace that original application or have a more advanced version of that application. I especially like the logo and the clean app design. However, there are problems I am going to get into. First and foremost, this app is missing a proper text to speech reader. I wanted this app to take my books, PDFs, screenshots of books, and texts, to be converted into audio files that can be played offline for audio listening. This app has an AI subscription you have to pay that takes pages one by one and converts them to text which does not work offline and only does one page at a time. That is not a proper text to speech feature. Speechify has this feature, I do not understand why this app cannot do so. The AI feature does allow you to compare the audio file to the book page or image file which is nice. Great for note taking, but I would like it to work offline and not also just have to manually select text for it to be read aloud. That is a bit cumbersome. Additionally, I paid a one time fee for this app. I was expecting that to be it but the app requires a monthly subscription of 3$ a month to use the AI feature which doesn’t even allow for offline listening. Please fix this. I hate the Apple subscription model. 3$ a month isn’t bad but for lack of offline listening— that is unacceptable. Some other features I would like to see is an OCR reader technology that converts JPEG or PNG image files into readable text that can be played back via audio. And lastly, I would like for an easier and more seamless file importing/exporting integration feature. In order for me to upload my books to this app, I need to manually move the files from the native iOS files application. I cannot just simply import my books by tapping the share button and the app will accept the book— the app needs to have the files manually imported into the application and moved all around. Same goes for exporting. I will up my review once these issues are fixed especially the text to speech feature— please fix this ASAP. But I really do like this app— especially the logo. Please do not change that. App logo looks nice and was one of the reasons I bought this app. A nicely organized book organizer and reader for my phone.
