Brings me back to my childhood years. Wish it was easier to retrace your steps, miss one thing and it is the end. Still stuck in the maze in the Warlock of Firetop Mountain.

Purchased house of hell. Played it. Went to play it an hour later, but I had to repurchase? It’s going to cost money every time I play?  Too expensive!!!

The best parts of this experience is how it evokes the feeling of the original books. But that’s also probably it’s biggest drawback, too. Flipping pages is interesting to start, but grows tedious over time when I’m used to simply scrolling my text like I’ve done everywhere else for years. The stat sheet is interesting, but to have to “pull it out” to see more items like inventory took a while to figure out. Thankfully, the app does offer some interesting items like auto-map generation that you’d otherwise have to do manually. Having to create your character through the intro pages of the book is slow and unintuitive, probably best broken out into its own “character creation” screen per book. And I’m kinda shocked that the app doesn’t have ANY achievements, which take advantage of the digital format. Ex: Make it through a book successfully, unlock an alternate cover image. Make it through a book without rerolling your character, unlock new flair for you avatar. There’s a deep well here to draw from. The thing is I get that nostalgia and intricacy can make for a compelling download, but to have me coming back to look for new books to buy means I have to really enjoy the experience, and there are just a lot of modern niceties that a digital device allows for that this app doesn’t take advantage of, relying mostly on the “how can we make this look like a teenager trying to play this on their overcrowded desk in their room at home.” Which has its place, don’t get me wrong. I just wish there was a more modern mode too.

### ***** "A Smooth Digital Adaptation"
I still have my weathered, yellowing copy of the first (numberless) paperback edition of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain.  It's as much a part of my youth as the First Star Wars movie.  Obviously, then, my interest is primarily sentimental, and if that is also your interest, any of these Tin Man titles should fill you with warm nostalgia fuzzies.  Purists can play without cheating and insist on the original line illustrations, or one can select various enhancements, including background music, bookmarks and auto-mapping. Plus, it runs very nicely on my crappy old iPad 2 with no crashing (so far), so this title has earned its stars.  If anyone younger than me can appreciate this strange blend of archaic entertainment and modern tech presentation, so much the better...

Though I imagine it (the new, free one) would be tedious and overly repetitive to play at difficult levels.

LOVED these books as a kid.  I must played through “Trial of Champions” 50 times....  Would be nice if there was some sort of package deal instead of buying all the books separately though.  Look forward to seeing more titles.  Thanks for the nostalgia!

### **--- "Good Idea, unsatisfying implementation"
So, as a long time fan of the Fighting Fantasy Books, I was so very happy to see them being turned into apps by Tin Man Games. I immediately went out and purchased the entire line up. I thought it weird they were being done as separate apps, but whatever. 
Today, I saw the Fighting Fantasy Classics app, and though “All in one place, this is even better” and immediately downloaded it. 
Opened up FFC and immediately noticed that all the book apps that I’d previously purchased were locked. Well, that sucked. I re-downloaded one of the old book apps because maybe it needed to be on my phone to unlock.. Nope. 
I clicked on one of the locked books, because maybe it’s just a UI glitch..(I QA software for a living)... a price point appeared, so I stopped exploring because I didn’t want to accidentally buy the book again. 
I went into Settings and tried Restore Purchases.. didn’t appear to have any effect...
I then noticed something, clicked on a couple of things (I being deliberately vague here), and suddenly I was in one of the books.
Went back out to the main UI and everything still appeared locked. 
Now, I’m left wondering...
... did I accidentally re-purchase one of the books? (don’t think so but it’s a possibility)
... are the books I purchased via the individual apps actually unlocked, but not appearing so because the UI can’t handle my case, (or is designed to lead me towards repurchasing)?
... did I actually just get around the DRM with a few button clicks to avoid a purchase.. is this software really that poorly made/going to be that buggy?

Overall, happy to see the library being condensed into a single app, but so far my experience with that single app has been very unsatisfying.
