## Files Description
Access and organize your files no matter where they’re located — on your device, in the cloud, on an external drive or file server— with Files. The Recents view displays the files you’ve been working on lately in high-resolution thumbnails. Use the powerful Browse view to navigate folders, organize your files with tags, move files between folders, and search. Files also makes it easy to access iCloud Drive and third-party cloud storage services such as Dropbox, Box, and OneDrive.

Features

• Press the Files icon in the Dock or Home screen to quickly open a file from anywhere

• Connect an external drive or SD card to your device to access the files

• Connect to a file server at work or a home PC using SMB from Files

• Use tags to organize files stored with different cloud providers and across different apps.

• Pin your favorite folders in Browse view for quick access to the ones you use most.

• Give people access to any file stored in iCloud Drive by sharing a link from the Files app

It doesn’t do enough. File explorers were more advanced in the 80s on devices that had a fraction of the power our modern phones do. There’s no excuse why I can only browse like 4 locations on my phone. There needs to be more freedom and features.

for what i use this app for, it's functional yet also leaves me frustrated by its lack of a few features. i wish for the option to rename multiple selections at once like you can on macos! also the option to have a primary sort and a secondary sort, e.g. sort by file type then alphabetically. lastly, on the mobile app, to be able to hold press and have the option to delete a file. it just needs some tweaking

I used to love the files app since I can download notes from lectures and annotate them. However, recently, the app keeps crashing whilst writing notes and does NOT save any of my work. It has also stopped syncing and I can no longer find them on laptop. Pls pls I’m begging you to fix this, I used to use the app religiously for note taking.

8GB of icloud drive appear in my storage but there's nothing in my icloud drive. there's no way to delete it so i only have about 20gb of space due to the bloated OS size. 
p.s. apple, go beg you rich friends for money instead of preying on your broke af users. there's a reason we don't have your newer devices: we don't have any money to upgrade. this tactic of sabotaging your older devices is obvious and only makes me want an android if i ever get the chance.

I saw a review that believes people hate it for the lack of bells & whistles. THATS NOT REMOTELY CLOSE TO THE ISSUES. 

You Can’t simply scroll photos left or right. You need to swipe it hard and fast; that isn’t a bell or whistle that’s basic functionality this app Doesn’t have. It’s useless 

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THE PEOPLE THAT BUILT THIS USELESS garbage actually use it. It doesn’t do anything worth taking up Space for, it’s useless. Apple hires the dumbest morons Seriously who build a pile of trash that has all the functionality of 1980’s Texas Instruments Calculator.

This app is very handy for viewing files and works mostly as expected. But you cannot clear your “recents” or files you’ve previously opened cache. Big misstep here. In the past I’ve used this app in conjunction with an external drive to view tax or medical records which the app keeps a record of and will not allow me to clear that cache. There is no fix. So be warned that any file you open will permanently be in your recents folder.
