Foodnoms - Nutrition Tracker

Hi guys! Really nice and joyful nutrition app after two I’ve been using for over 5 years (MyFitnessPal , fat secret). Real treasure. Nice informative widgets with quick add on tap - caif. I would like to see bigger catalog of foods, but of course it’s a question of community. Wish your community grow!

I‘m still in my free trial week but I can already tell this app will be the one to stay. Apple Health integration, native ui, iPad, iPhone and watch apps.. it‘s amazing how clean and uncluttered this app is. Inputting items in precise grams is very fast, no stupid selection wheels. Scanning new food items is so easy. Not having to keep my body measurements and nutrition goals manually synced between different apps (thanks to Health) is awesome! Fairly priced and no predatory business practices (some competitors literally have you spin a wheel for subscription discounts. uggh.) No slew of unrealistic recipes that you will never make, no shopping cart (I have Reminders, thank you), just nutrition tracking with a fast and efficient ui. My only suggestion would be to explain this whole „carbohydrates by difference“ thing to people outside the US up front. That was a bit confusing at first, I thought the app was misreading the carbs while scanning. Oh, and sending food items to my Reminders shopping list would be 5.5/5 :) Overall, this is what an iOS first app should be like. Using it is simple, fast and fun!

Genau das was ich gesucht habe. Vll kann man die Eingabe noch etwas vereinfachen, da bin ich manchmal noch am stolpern. Log? Ach ne erst mal Food anlegen. Ach ne, ist ja kein Food sondern recipe oder meal? KI funktioniert richtig gut. Abo preis finde ich relativ hoch. Ich weiß KI kostet aber trotzdem. Community Sharing ohne große Account Klimbim auch super. Bei KI wäre es noch toll wenn auch die Micronährstoffe besser drin wären und Mega wäre noch ein Foto vom Essen mit Vorschlag von der KI.

Nachdem ich die T&Cs von MyFitnessPal gelesen habe, war ich auf der Suche nach einer Alternative, die einen stärkeren Fokus auf Privatsphäre legt, ohne dabei auf nützliche Funktionen verzichten zu müssen. Mit FoodNoms Kalorienzähler App habe ich genau das gefunden, was ich gesucht habe. Der größte Unterschied zu anderen Apps, die ich ausprobiert habe, ist der respektvolle Umgang mit den Nutzerdaten. Es ist gut zu wissen, dass meine Daten sicher sind und die Privatsphäre hier an erster Stelle steht. Die User Experience dieser App verdient ebenfalls Lob. Alles läuft sehr flüssig, und die Benutzeroberfläche ist intuitiv gestaltet. Das Hinzufügen von Nahrungsmitteln zum Tagebuch ist unkompliziert, und die Datenbank ist umfangreich. Selbst seltenere Lebensmittel habe ich problemlos gefunden. Die App lädt schnell, und ich habe keinerlei Verzögerungen oder Abstürze erlebt. Es ist offensichtlich, dass bei der Entwicklung der App viel Wert auf eine hohe Benutzerfreundlichkeit gelegt wurde. Kurz gesagt, diese Kalorienzähler-App übertrifft meine Erwartungen in vielerlei Hinsicht. Danke!

This app is exactly what I was looking for. I tried the „big“ ones but wasn‘t satisfied. As you pretty much use a tracker all day long, it‘s quite important that you feel home within the app and that nothing gets in your way. Foodnoms is very good at this if not the best. Its so easy to track your food and get „no-nonsense“ charts and overviews. I really like that you are that flexible with tracking everything but it never gets more difficult to track or find anything you need.

I really like the option to only set certain goals for yourself. Since I am recovering from a unhealthy relationship with food and calories i found it very helpful to only set my protein intake as my goal. This way i can make sure that i get in my protein without having to worry about my calorie intake as much. I would love to have a function to only be shown specific nutrients when searching for food. That way people in recovery could use the app saver without being triggered. But that is not something I would expect from a tracking app anyways. So i really think it still deserves the five stars.

Used this app for like a day now, im in love with all its features and customizations, but its missing a german version
