Does what it’s supposed to
Just got my Genki Waveforms and this app works exactly as expected. Not sure why the reviews are so negative.

Can’t get the headphones to work on Steam Deck OLED, only in DualStream mode will it work correctly. Will not work by itself.
I’m listening to music through the buds connected to my phone, but when I tap connect in the app, nothing happens.
Firmware upgrade messaging and process is confusing. Not super clear which firmware it is updating from or to, as the versions mentioned are not clear, but that is a small Ui thing. The bigger issue is that the firmware upgrade just says “upgrade failed” with no cause or way to fix. Then if you reconnect the pair, instead of attempting to recover it pops up a dialog telling you to upgrade and no choice to dismiss. Grateful the buds still work though, very great quality build and hope to keep enjoying them for years.
Last update 3mo ago. Eagerly awaiting multipoint hoping it comes soon. The battery life is incredible on these hands down the best anywhere. The sound quality is not the greatest. I don’t recommend for audiobooks or phone calls. Audiobooks when I increase sound volume in app it is distorted. Phone calls the noise cancellation is meh. People claim they can hear everything I am doing - background noise of public transport, washing dishes, tv in background, people talking 10ft away - picks up everything even with noise cancellation on. Guess cancels only for me not for the other person. Calls and audiobooks I use my AirPod pros. They are worth $200 for audio quality and noise cancellation. Transparency mode is much better too. I don’t have to worry about the above scenarios. For the price, to demand $200 genki are not on par with quality of other earbuds or headphone as this level. Since updating I do not notice any difference in audio quality improvement. Still tinny and distorted. Genki serves a separate purpose for gaming but definitely not worth $200. They’re not updated or supported well enough to reach their greatest potential. We bought in early on for those promises and paid for the potential. Nearly 1yr later it is still yet to be delivered. I remain hopeful but as time passes it seems this is the “final product”
Rudimentary, and not much information/documentation about how to confidently perform the firmware update. A lot of intuitive controls you’d expect aren’t yet in the app. I know the devs rushed this out to get the EQ settings out there. FWIW, I use mine for gaming (Call of Duty on PC,) and when I got the EQ settings tuned for FPS, they sounded fantastic. I’m not crapping on the developers here. Just want to help set expectations for those who download this for now. Looking forward to updates, and will adjust the review as it progresses.
Had an issue with connecting to app after firmware update in the app. Managed to fix by performing factory reset (connect case with buds in to pc or phone, then press 1 button for 5 seconds until light blinks red three times). Afterwards, buds were recognized in app and work as expected!
