Nest cam door bell video response is poor. Loading is slow, sometimes blacks out and won’t load video unless the app is closed and reopened. Also why does it asks to check for Bluetooth devices every time this app opens? It is better to use the native app, nest in my case. Very unpolished app by Google, low quality software developers and no design finesse. 1/10

I’ve had this for several years now and until recently haven’t had many issues. I basically only use it for my music but as of recent it’s become unbearable. I’ll ask it to play a song and it will choose the live recording, a remix or just some obscure choice like we will rock you will only play the one by queen and five? I ask for just queen and that doesn’t happen. It’s infuriating. The only issue being that it just casually unlinked my accounts and continues to do it over and over. I’ve reconnected them however this last usually less than a day. I’m super annoyed to say the least and now am just using my phone as it works significantly better.

So incredibly hard to get and keep a live feed from a camera. Also, confusingly, displays “Can’t reach this camera” while showing - wait for it - a live feed of the camera. The first malfunction occurred just days before the one-year mark, prompting me to replace it with another unit, which unfortunately also failed precisely at the one-year threshold. When I reached out for support a few days late, they denied assistance, citing the expiration of the warranty.

I feel compelled to share this experience to warn potential buyers about the reliability of Google’s thermostat products. If you want to avoid being left without heat during the freezing Canadian winters—especially around the holiday season—I strongly advise against choosing these devices. I have retained email correspondence that demonstrates their reluctance to provide support, and it appears they will find reasons to deny any claims for assistance. My goal is to inform others and help ensure that families stay safe and warm during the winter months.
