Gumtree SA: Buy. Sell. Save.

After having used Gumtree for years, it's time to say goodbye. Gumtree has been my go-to marketplace for preowned goods, where I've found countless treasures and made many memorable transactions. I remember the days when the app was simple, user-friendly, and a joy to navigate. It was a place where you could easily find what you needed and connect with sellers without any hassle. However, over the years, the user experience has steadily gone downhill. The recent changes to the UI/UX have made using the app more frustrating than ever. It's no longer the seamless, intuitive platform it once was. Finding items has become cumbersome, the interface feels cluttered, and navigating through the app is now a chore rather than a pleasure. It's with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to the good old Gumtree days. I will always cherish the memories of the countless great deals and the community spirit that once made Gumtree a standout platform. But as it stands now, the frustration outweighs the benefits, and it's time to move on. Thank you for the years of service, Gumtree. I will miss what you once were.

I battle to find categories.

Gumtree not the same I always bought from gumtree now it’s untrustworthy site I buy in facebook marketplace much cheaper and more convenient

It’s amazing that the most basic, most fundamental, most widely used feature of mobile applications, one ABSOLUTELY essential to anything with a chat feature, does not work, I complained about it 2 years ago already and still broken. I want push notifications, not emails. It’s chat for crying out loud, it’s 2024 not 1984

Pictures fail to upload, app freezes, no where as simple to upload. More paid ads than actual adverts (less genuine people selling items). App is up to date. Network is perfect. App is just rubbish…

Ive been using gumtree for quite some time now i like everything about the new update accept for the chat option you need to go to “you” and then under there find the chat option it does not have its own tab any more its very inconvenient and difficult to use when trying to communicate to clients i also dont always get the notifications anymore

Not much opportunity for private sellers to have unpaid visibility of our ads, especially for certain categories such as furniture. Businesses tend to spam this category with their unpaid ads.

Listing photos often disappear and the app doesn’t allow you to fix that. It’s also impossible to delete chats.

App does not want to open so cannot delete sold items
