So I’m in my late 60’s and get a minor bite from the ham bug. Once I understood what I was up against, I chose HamStudy for my online tutoring. After a solid month of using HamStudy, my progress had plateaued at 95% aptitude. I just completed my in person technician exam this past weekend and scored 94%. Each of the VE’s onsite complimented me on getting 33 correct answers out of 35. I think the most useful feature of HamStudy is the study sessions. I passed my tech on 10-27, I passed the general on 11/13/2024. Now, I am studying for the extra and plan on keeping using this app tool to complete all my licenses! I loved how the guides matched the books and chapters perfectly!!! It was a great help for when I was studying for my weaker areas and prepping me for the exam! Passed both exams on the first time and the tech only missed 2 questions! I am not a good test taker and this made it super easy to study for. The tech and general took me 2 weeks each to get through it all and comfortable with the questions. All questions on the exam were on this app word for word! This is a must have app if you are serious in passing the ham exams!!! It was critical for me and I spent 2-4 hrs a day studying with this app along with the books. My mom use this app along with the Gordon West books to pass her tech, gen and extra in just 5 weeks. I used it for my extra after hopping over from a free app (which was not bad, just this one is better) for my tech and general. I am also a volunteer examiner, who recommends folks to use this app. In my opinion, it has the highest success rate across all study platforms. You must use it properly though, and don’t jump the gun once you passed your first practice exam. It has a complex learning algorithm, which takes you through the questions, repeats those that you are weak in and prepares you to be successful on your exam. We see a huge number of perfect or near perfect force when testing. Make sure to create an account at hamstudy.org and track your progress across all your devices. I know this sounds like some sort of paid review, but it’s not. I am a volunteer, remember? I’ve just done a lot of remote and in-person testing in. The newest release includes the ability to select your study resource, and review/study the questions by chapters. The most common are the Gordon West series, for ARRL study manuals, and the no-nonsense guides. No matter, whether you use one of these or another, you should always finish up with hamstudy.org and go thru study mode and then a few practice exams to make sure you are ready.
