Love the idea of the app and the fact that it’s conversational Irish is brilliant but I can’t progress any further than the first level without opting in for the free trial. I don’t want to opt in and can’t move forward unless I do. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but that’s a really annoying feature, should just be able to ignore it and move on like Duo. Besides that I think it has great potential

Really enjoying using this app!   Far better than Duolingo as it’s teaching you phrases and conversational Irish that you will actually use. There were a few bugs but they were caught and fixed very quickly. Would highly recommend!

This is a deadly app for learning or relearning the Irish 
☘️ 🇮🇪 ☘️language, much better than Duolingo the pronunciations are very clear and familiar to the ear which makes all the difference if you are relearning, go raibh maith agat múinteoir at feckin last an Irish 🇮🇪app made by a real life Irish language speaker and teacher. The conversational pace of the app is great for learning phrases but when it comes to the end of a module to have a conversation the app is abit buggy, even if you say the sentence exactly it tells you it was wrong or it loads for ages or tells you that the sentence is almost there and will say you didn’t use a capital letter at the start of a sentence even though you spoke it

Loved the idea and was excited about it but it’s not really stating at an accessible price for a brand new app, I’d even say as a new app there should be an opening/ early access ‘lifetime access’ sale option for the original people who decide to support you and the app and try it . Would love give it a proper go but can’t at the early access price, especially due to the lack of levels. The price doesn’t reflect the product unfortunately

I’ve really enjoyed getting set up on the app. The initial process is very smooth and clear. 

Although I set my level to intermediate, I was surprised to see ‘saying hello’ and ‘asking how you are’ as two lessons to begin. So I decided to go into the role plays to give them a shot. Better, as I can choose more to my level. But it did miss my accent a few times, asking me to try again, even when I spoke more clearly it said I was wrong on one sentence. The strange part was that it had translated my words correctly and still said it was wrong, the only thing that was missing was a comma.

I would say for ease of use, if the responses are slightly off (by one word or letter for example) it should offer the fix, then move on without the repetition of the same sentence. I would keep doing the same role play and learn from it then. Otherwise it felt slow. 

Price wise, €99 for the year isn’t bad - it’s on the cusp of what I’d pay for an app but comparing to Duo lingo which is €89 per year, I can see some people not wanting to pay that. I know Irish on Duo is terrible but that’s the comparison many will make in my view. 

Nonetheless, I’ve been looking for a way to practice my spoken Irish again - I was fluent leaving school but have gotten rusty and I really see this working. 

Maybe I’m not seeing the option to increase the level of Irish and of course I understand the limitations of any voice recognition software to an Irish accent!
