When I first updated to iOS 26 the Hilo app was behaving strangely. It would open an external document called InAppFormsTemplate.html. I wrote this review and the support team contacted me
a few days after saying that they were already working on a fix. The new update fixed all the issues that the previous software version had.

The app looks polished, but that’s where the positives end. I used it with the Hilo band I bought directly from the manufacturer, and the blood pressure readings were completely unreliable — consistently 20–30 mm Hg too high compared to multiple medical-grade and home cuff devices.

Even after starting prescribed BP medication (which all other devices clearly reflected), the Hilo band showed no change. Worse, the band stopped measuring at one point with no notice — only started working again after recalibration.

I followed every instruction, troubleshooting step, and guideline listed on their site. Still, support refused to acknowledge the problem, blamed me, and wouldn’t honor the warranty. This app is useless if the device feeding it data can’t be trusted. Not recommended.

The bracelet is constantly 20-30 pts high on systolic and 10 pts high on diastolic compared to the cuff. Even if I take the cuff. Reading multiple trimester in the same period of time as the cuff. I am not sure if the cuff is right or the bracelet. Cuff says my BP is great bracelet says stage 2 blood pressure. Tried to find a contact number or email on the app to ask questions but it never lets you navigate past the questions or FAQs it wants to answer. For the price it has only created more questions and likely raised my blood pressure 🤣

I purchased this BP monitor so I could have a real time picture of my condition. I find it works flawlessly. I am able to adjust my habits like coffee and exercise and diet to actually make a difference in my BP control. The thing I like a lot about this device is I forget it’s on my wrist. It’s so light and the band is very comfortable and the battery lasts a long time.

We bought our Aktiia band based on an advertised set of features that now require payment. Basic things like syncing and downloading need a paid plan with the recent version of the app. I do not recommend this product or this company.

Almost every time I open the Hilo app, it says my Hilo band is not connected and I need to click on “measure” and “connect”. Can you make an improvement to the app so that step is automatically done when I open it?  No need to make me click and do it each time, it should automatically reconnect the bracelet when I open the app.

The device is excellent and I would recommend it.  The App is also basically very good. On the other hand, even with a yearly subscription, you cannot export automatically all your data to Apple Health.  The only data that is exported is a daily mean - for blood pressure as well as heart rate.  For the later, this can mess other function of the Apple Watch - such as arrhythmia monitoring.

So you buy the device with the cuff. But the cuff measurements aren’t part of the averages that are calculated. Oh, and my device went from reading every hour or so to getting a couple of readings a day, and I can’t re-initialize. Tech support is useless and not responsive. I guess it’s nice if it works but the company is not supporting their product. Don’t waste your money:

I was suffering high blood pressure and needed to take my BP twice a day from doctors orders to understand what was happening and if I was in my way to hypertension or even LVH.  Living a busy life it was very hard to get to a place to use a BP monitor, or grab a home cuff etc. I even had to wear a cuff system for 24hrs which was horrible to sleep and concentrate on work.  Using this device I was able to give myself and doctors the info to get on a healthy diet and exercise program that changed everything. This very accurate device and supporting system is literally a life saver

Was excited about this tool, then I went to sync with Apple Health, which is not automatic. It is 2025. How is that not possible?  Would not have bought it - and waited for this integration had I known. Suggest you hold off till they do this simple software step.
